Wii!

Does CGA have a Wii chapter? i mean... there are limited games currently we "can" play over our Wii's... yet... we can at least mail... and... heck... once those games come out... we can play over the internet?

How many people have Wii's so we can get a respectable number to consider...

CoD 3 for the wii SUCKS
noooo not completely true.. using the wiimote one minute to aim a headshot then flipping it sideways to drive a vehicle is pretty sweet/fun/neato

I think (not positive)there are only 2 games that currently allow online play: Pokemon and Mario Strikers Charged.

Be sure to post your Wii code here (on the Tribe of Judah General Discussion Forum).

I remember playing an FPS on the wii, I felt like i was drunk and on some type of hallucinogenic drug. The sensitivity was all screwed up and you get even more fun if you go "outside" the range of the controller. Console controllers may be bad for FPS but the wii is plain horrible IMO. It is bad enough to fight in the game without having to struggle against your controller.

really... i have been dying to try FPS on the Wii with the addition on the Wii remote (the fps gun.... on the wii remote). I thought it sounded like the orignal duck hunter... well... hopefully if the movement system isn't to difficult.

If you can actually get it to work. I respond by quoting VK:

AMEN! I just barely moved the Wiimote to the right and all of a sudden my view is spinning in circles. My main problem with the Wii has always been over-sensitivity.

See VK's quote.

Once Super Smash Bros. Brawl comes out, we're all going to have a big party.

And I think I should be number 1 considering I started the thread :-P

As far as FPS controls go you should check out Metroid Prime 3 that just came out. It may not be as good as a mouse and keyboard but I would say it is the best console FPS control I've ever encountered.

ok... i guess... i'm fine with that...

if there aren't any more objectors...
well.... tek can have 2....
so i guess i will go 3?

My main problem with the Wii has always been over-sensitivity.
There's a setting in the Wii Settings menu to adjust sensitivity. If you find the controls are too sensitive, try decreasing the sensitivity.

As for me, I'm eagerly anticipating renting Metroid Prime 3: Corruption--mainly to try to the controls. I've been looking forward to playing a full-on FPS game on the Wii since I first played the on-rails shooter mode in Rayman: Raving Rabbids.

I hope to help Tribe of Judah establish a Wii Chapter before the end of this year in preparation for Mario Kart Wii (allegedly slated for release Q1 2008).

The problem is the limited range offered by the wii controller. Hit the edge and you go flying all over. They use a joystick like interface that is horrible for FPS. If they had included a button for turning then a hold down to aim then I wouldn't mind. Trying to integrate movement and aiming into one or 2 axis is just asking for trouble.

Whoever gets metroid prime 3 first... tell me how it is? and give an honest review... i can't trust half the reviewers out there because there opinion is distorted by dollars in pocket by sed company.

I rented it yesterday. I plan to post a separate thread with my impressions soon.
