i need my floppy drive since thats the only other way of sending drivers and stuff to my other computers since non of them can access my network, which is just wierd. anyways when ever i try and send something into a floppy disk i get a: no address mark was found on the floppy disk. error

im uesing winxp, and havent tampered with my floppy drive, and it can read data on the disk fine, its not full or copy protected.... O_O help? thanks

Hrm, "No Address Mark" sounds like something floppy-related to me. Have you tried a different diskette?

Like SirThom said, have you tried copying files to a different floppy? I'd recommend going and buying a new disks. Sometimes you can get a bad batch of floppy disks, or if a disk has sat around for a while it can go bad.

Another thing you can try is to try cleaning your floppy drive. If those still don't fix it, you could try replacing your floppy drive. (floppy drives are usually pretty cheap these days)

Oh yeah, those things are great. I know Tek uses it to transport his files and Firefox from computer to computer :D

well......... im poor >_< lol thanks anyways

well i checked some other forums (posted msgs at same time) and they said to do a "full format" which worked O_O but my win98 comps couldt read it afterwards....

Floppy drives that don't work are caused by the drive or the cable going bad. I've had cables go bad just as much as the drives. When Hard Drive cables go bad the Hard Drives usually go bad too. But with floppies the drives are usually ok. If you are going to buy either I would try a local used store. If you don't have an old computer sitting around to get one out of. That way you don't spend an arm and a leg.
