Widescreen monitors

What widescreen monitors do you recommend? Do you know of
some that can view 1024x768 Resolution square screen size
or do I need screen resizing software to resize the screen
on 1024x768 Resolution?

if you are going crt they can adjust without a problem. if you are talking lcd's they all have a native resolution they can display perfectly. Any other resolution they have to adapt to with varying results. Any modern monitor can do that resolution..it's a matter of how far off it's native resolution it is(at least for the flat screen).

I just bought a 20" widescreen from Dell for $243. It came with a 3yr advanced replacement warranty. It's native resolution is1680x1050 but it can display any resolution below that. However the non-native resolutions aren't as clear as 1680x1050.

Most of the LCDs out there will scale the image to fill the monitor, it will get distorted when it doesn't match 1:1 (ie 800x600 will scale perfectly to 1600x1200). CRTs are hard to recommend nowadays as they weigh a ton, suck power like mad, can cause more eye strain and generally have a lower contrast ratio.

I don't care if there are black borders on the sides of the
widescreen.

I want to know if I can play games like warcraft 3 without it
stretching on 1024x768 resolution.

no unless the lcd has a native resolution of 1024x768 it will get adjusted to whatever the screen's native resolution is..so it will get stretched and or modified to fit the panel9the panel's internal electronics do this..not your vid card)

I've found out how I can change the aspect ratio of
widescreen monitor on 1024x768 Resolution.

It depends on the native resolution of the widescreen
monitor.

If its 1440x900 then I think I set it to 1200x900 60hz
on nvidia control panel.

Then change it to 1024x768 if needed and its standard screen size.

And if I want to watch widescreen movies then change it back
to normal widescreen resolution.

I think if this works this would make CRT Monitors a bit
Boring. :D

When a fullscreen game launches at a different resolution then the desktop resolution it automatically changes, without any need for the end user to do anything.
