Why is, The Incredibles, STILL expensive?

The movie is 4 years old and I'm completely confused.

The thing is, I saw just the beginning of it on TV. So, I wanted to buy it, I looked for it, and its $30!? :confused:

I also noticed most popular Disney movies like Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, Finding Nemo and Cars, still costs almost $30.

Can anyone explain to me, why do they still have those movies at their retail prices? Disney movies that are made from Pixar are just that good?

Those are some of the best movies out there, IF not THE best movies. Anything Pixar makes is gold. I wish they would move some of their development to video games and make something creative. The Pirates movies were very popular too. With such golden hits, you really can keep the price up like that.

Were you looking at regular DVD or Blu-ray?

Note: I thought Pirates 2 and 3 were terrible.

Note: Every Pixar movie makes it on my top 10 list.
 
Yeah, Blu Ray's are gonna be $30-$35, but The Incredibles on DVD? You're looking in the wrong places. Unless that's Canadian $$ then given the exchange I'd say that's about right (then again, I really don't know the standard prices on DVD's new or old in Canada, Disney or otherwise)
 
Yeah, Bluray is stupid and expensive...whoops...but The Incredibles is an AMAZING movie...

Because Pixar films are awesome.

But yeh, $30 still seems a bit high. A quick search on Froogle (a.k.a. Google Product Search) turns up several $20 results.
 
I am not into watching TV all the much, and regular movies work fine for me, I could care less about HD and Bluray, even though I cannot believe that Bluray won, seriously, who in their right mind would spend $500 on a DVD player...that is just stupid...

But it can play BluRay movies and Final Fantasy XIII (when it comes out).

EDIT: Oh, and SoulCalibur IV.

And when it comes to new entertainment technologies, intelligent spending has nothing to do with it. Remember what the first HDTVs cost? Wow.

Don't download movies, kids--unless they're animated by a Japanese studio and unlicensed in the US or public domain. Then I have no problems with it.

Seriously, the MPAA is on the hunt and lawyers aren't cheap.

You forgot Versus XIII. Word has it both games might end up being on multiple Blu Rays.....I'll never finish them.

Put it this way, if I had $500 laying around to buy something like that, I would be rich...point made!

I usually only use <TPB> to download Anime, however...my belief in an open a free internet, goes beyond legality sometimes...

*well isnt it also that disney movies cost more to make. cause they have some weird thing on them so u CANT burn them. thats y they put them in the vault in stuff is because they spend the money to stop people from making copies is very smart move

A Blu-Ray Player here cost about $500. An expensive DVD Player here costs almost $300. Comes with a 250GB, and its a DVD-Recorder.

It would make sense to buy a PS3 since it is way cheaper than the Blu-Ray Players.

It still costs $30 because people will pay $30 for a Disney movie, because they know it will go back into the Vault soon.

NOTHING is unburnable. They also said that StarForce was uncrackable, but it took 2 weeks before it was cracked.

Whaa? Why use TPB when you can use AnimeSuki instead? You can download the freshest subbed episodes fansubs groups have to offer rather than trying to squeeze a few low-resolution episodes of Cowboy Bebop out of a torrent with 2 seeders.

And yes, I know TPB has new anime as well, but AnimeSuki specializes in new, unlicensed fansubs. If you're concerned about staying as legal as possible while still downloading fansubbed anime, AnimeSuki is the place to go.

EDIT: And let's keep this thread civil, please. >_<

I do, but sometimes the seeding is too low...

Just to justify (kinda) what I do, I will not download something if I would seriously want to rent or buy it... But if I am just curious about it, I will download it, and if I like it, I will go out and buy it...
 
o i thought i heard that u couldnt burn them hmm im not a computer guru like u guys

but having the whole disney vault is pretty good idea! i mean you can sell movies till they go down to 30 dollars then they put in vault come back out with 60 dollars! bam mula

Meh. Call me a sucker for non-Pixar films, but... meh. I sort of lost interest in Pixar's films a while ago. Not saying they aren't good--for family/kid movies, yeah! Awesomeness! But... not for me, personally.

Also, did Pixar make Ratatouille, or however you spell that? Because I thought that one really stunk.
