Why are there not many groups in WoW

Okay,

So I admit it!!

I AM OLD SCHOOL. I came from Ultima Online, EverQuest and Dark Age of Camelot. The greatest joy in these games was in getting good groups and interacting with people. :)

So, here is my question- WHAT THE HECK IS UP WITH BLIZZARD AND THE LACK OF GROUPS?

Discuss.....

QUESTS. Since every class can solo well (so they say) there is little need for groups with the exception of instances and raids.

I noticed that too. One thing that I really like doing is being able to group up and get quests done together. I also really like soloing at times, so I can't complain a whole lot.

have you tried looking? i usually always have been able to get a group for quests, or if i see someone else in the area killing the quest mob i invite them.

In the games icthus listed above you grouped to get exp from the mobs, not from the quest that made you kill the mobs. The exp you get from mobs when your grouped is wacked in WoW imo. You should get more exp, and bonuses for when you have a full group and other good elements.

You DO get more experience in groups. EXP is divided evenly between all party members, then you get a group bonus based on how many people you are grouped with. It is divided like this because a group means you can kill faster, take down more mobs and therefore get more experience in the long run.

If you need a group for something, just say LFG <insert quest here> in either general or guild chat.

What Blizzard did was make it so it wasn't required to group, making it possible to solo. But grouping will always make things faster.

Also, elite quests = done in groups. After level 40, instances will be everywhere and you'd never have to solo again, if you choose to.

Yeah, it's great...
There are at least five instances for lvl 40-50, which is Scarlet Monestary (very low fourties), Uldaman, Temple, and Zul'Farrak (mid fourties), and Maraudon (high fourties).

From 50-60 is Maraudon, Sunken Temple (the Temple of Atal'Hakkar), Blackrock Depths, Blackrock Spire, Scholomance, Stratholme...and I think a handful of others but I'm unsure what they are.

I've started playing on an RP server...I have to say it's going a lot better group-wise. People are honorable, considerate, and caring. Which is a lot more than I can say for most PvP servers.

I would have to say that is pretty normal.

I usually try to aim for RP servers for that very reason.

But, our family has choosen here, so here I will stay.
