you could pvp and get the mount for 90g rather than spend 800g..u can use that money to buy stuff or get uber enchants or what not.

If you don't have a lot of time to pvp then i suggest just buy your mount

How much is the AV epic mount you can get at exhaulted? I'm just over 5k into revered with the Stormpike gaurd (16k away from exhaulted) so it will be another 6 or 7 games before hitting exhaulted for myself.

If its only 90g for the Stormpike Gaurd epic mount, that might be a fairly easy mount to get. Each win will garner 3 to 6k worth of faction with stormpike gaurd. And each loss from 1.5 to 3.5k. You need 3k to get to friendly, 6k to honoured, 12k to revered and 21k to exhaulted. Thats 12 to 15 wins or so or 24 to 30 losses. Not likely to get all wins or all losses in a row, so mix it up, 20 games. Its a thought.
