What PTT hotkey do you use for vent?

So, after several years of this, I still feel "suboptimized" with respect to a push-to-talk vent hotkey. I've tried the ~ key (which is in the upper left right under escape on my G15) ... but that will cause system beeps if I push it at the right now (and it's a bit of the stretch). I've tried tab/capslock/shift and stuff but it's taken away other functionality. I've tried mouse buttons, but I'm really no good with mouse buttons, period (Gilga + Clique = Dead Raid). So, what's the collective wisdom of Team Redeemed on this? Am I just incompetent or am I missing something clever?

I use the * button on the number pad on the right of the keyboard. It's right there next to my mouse and easy to get to while I am in the middle of casting something.

F6 for me...it's a short reach from my main casting buttons. F buttons are your friends too. (just remember...don't try to keybind alt-f4...that would be an epic fail like me)

I use the top mouse thumb button. That way it doesn't rely on the keyboard hand and I can keep drinking my beer (rootbeer that is).

I use the ~ key. Used to use the middle mouse button, but vista does some weird things when I use that. I have no problems with that key.

i use ctrl and alt way to much in game. i'm using the "home" key right now and it keeps me from talking alot.

Well since I play wow on my pc and run vent on my laptop, also on my computer desk, I just use the ctrl key on my laptop because it doesn't really matter lol I was worried about it conflicting with how I play as well to run it on my PC.

My 1996 vintage mouse does not have 5 buttons! It doesn't even have a scroll wheel, which is seriously annoying. I wish Logitech hadn't nerfed these things where the "pool ball" trackball is now a "ping pong ball".

It just dawned on me that my mouse might be older than Galatians...

I am trying out the Ewoks "Top button" approach, however. Now if I remember to unmute my mic when I log ON to the game and not when I log OFF from the game, it might just work out ok...
