The Witch Hunter...

The Shadow Warrior...

The Bright Wizard...

I have read a lot about them on Warhammers site and a few other sites... but... what can the beta testers tell me about them? Trying to figure wout what i am going to do when the game hits beta.

The Witch Hunter is very much like a rogue in WoW, he builds up accusations and uses them to do powerful attacks very much like combo points as in the attack deal more damage per accusation up to 5...

I have tried all 3 in closed beta with the lvl 31 template. I didn't play any of them more then 4-5 hours, so my opinions are kinda limited.

The BW feels the most powerful no doubt. The AoE DoTs are just sick. There is this feeling of lethal power that all the fire graphics give combined with the scary fact that you might blow your self up if not paying attention. I think the BW will be a pivotal class in the War as the damage output is very high and Destruction fears you! Be warned that you are a high priority target and die obscenely quick w/o a dedicated healer.

The WH has a lot of positional attacks (from the side or behind) or skills that are enhanced by position. The opening moves out of stealth are strong and the executions with 5 accusations built up are very bursty. Stealth itself is much weaker then a WoW rogue. You really are only in stealth if you are not in the cone of view of everyone, which is a hard skill to master. This class will take a good deal of skill to use to a high effectiveness. It seems like they want you to pick a goal, melee killer or ranged killer and then spec appropriately, becoming the bane of that class. The skill that stops all heal effectiveness on a target seems like it will be wicked powerful but I didn't really get to see first hand.

The SW is really a diamond in the rough. I think in the right hands this class will do amazing things. The ability to kite with this class is overpowered but yet hard to pull off. You have to make use of strafing away from people. If you backpedal at all you will be caught up-to. But if you strafe (keeping 100% speed) then jump while turning 180` in the air only to continue strafing the other way, you can keep in your skirmish mode + cone of view and unleash powerful attacks on the run. This will take a very skilled player, however and one who embraces the constant jumping, turning, and strafing playstyle. It was my experience in RvR to rarely be the target of anyone but the occasional witchelf, leaving me to think that you will have good survivability due to not being a high priority target. Its a pretty neat feeling to be up on a ledge way far from the incoming foes and start dropping a rain of arrows from max distance. (max distance in this game can be crazy far)

OK so that's my thoughts off the top of my head. Not much really, as I didn't take to the playstyle of the dps classes as much as I have to some healers and tanks. Now for pure looks factor, the BW is so awesome and the WH also has such a great look. SW is neat but not outrageous like the other 2.

Like Ewok, I have tried all 3 in closed beta with the lvl 31 template and also leveled a couple fo them to 10-12. The only one I tried to an extent was the Bright Wizard.

Bright Wizard

I agree with Ewok that the Bright Wizard feels to be the most powerful of the three. The AoE and DoTs are amazing. Most DoT's have a long range and the ones that are instant cast can be used on the move, making them helpful. I found all three mastery lines where pretty good and I felt like a "glass cannon".

The fire graphics for abilities are just amazing. Mythic did an outstanding job with that. I played the Bright Wizard in both a patch where they were gimped and one where they were buffed. Played right, they excelled both times. This class is exceptional in PvE, Open Wolrd RvR, and Scenarios. They also look really cool.

Witch Hunter

It is hard to talk about the Witch Hunter without comparing it to a WoW Rogue. They have stealth, positional attacks and a combo point system (accusations). The stealth is pretty weak in WAR and you will not be one shoting or chain stunning anyone. I played one to level 12 and discovered that you kill things in PvE really quick. Faster than a Bright Wizard.

In Scenario RvR and Open RvR, you really have to pick your targets and play smart. I topped damage in Scenarios on multiple occasions, along with kills and killing blows. Open RvR you have to be more careful to avoid the zerg. I got eaten alive by the zerg on multiple occassions on the 31 template before I changed strategies. More changes are coming to the Witch Hunter that I think will improve them. A fun class in PvE and RvR. They also look cool (it's gotta be the hats.)

Shadow Warrior

I once again agree with Ewok about this class. Choosing your stances at the right times makes a huge difference. If you can master moving and shooting, you will do exceptionally well. I had the least amount of experience with this one out of the three, but it felt solid to me when playing it. (Except for the elf part :p).

Other Notes

I have had fun with almost every class that I have tried. The hardest for me was the Shaman, Maurader, and Archmage. Not sure why, the mechanics where good, just not my playstyle. Whichever class you choose really requires skill, which is what I liked. Also throw away any preconceptions about tanks that you ay have had in other MMO's. For the most part, Mythic got RvR & Tank to mix well.

I hope that answered some of your questions.
