What Bible translation do you use?

I have a KJV, NKJV, NIV, Contemporary English, and NLT.  I enjoy each and every one of them.  And none have authority over any other.  Although it is interesting to view the differences, but, those differences cause me to head out and find out why they exist.

And I challange everybody to take the list CCGR posted on the first page and do some research as to why there are differences between the KJV and the NIV.  I found it quite compelling.  There are many very good arguements for having the verses changed, added or dropped and many very good arguements for why they shouldn't have been so.  Nonetheless, I found out there are many intellegent people out there and that the message of the bible didn't change either way, so I am quite happy to keep all my bible versions without doubt of their authority.

hmmm now do u auctuallly read out of all of em?? like say for me i read at least 1 chapter a night, if u did the same, would u read the 1 chapter in all ver same night or do difrent version difrent nights.

there's a difference between studying and devotions. When studying, I'm actively seeking information, and doing comparisons and what not. for devotions, I'm just reading and communing with God. Of course I still have paper on hand so I can make notes about what I feel lead to study up on next.


When I'm studing the word I use E-Sword to get the information from many different versions, it also has all the commentaries and dictionaries right there at my finger tips.


but when I'm doing devotion or just personal reading, I use my Dake's KJV.

thats true there is a serouse difrence yet i try and do both at same time, just becuase i read bible, pray, then sleep and sometimes im up to late and have to go through niv quickly so that i wont be behind.
