ESV = English Standard Version

with a google search you can find their website where you can punch in any verse and it'll give ya a taste

it is currently the most accurate literal translation on the market - great for those of you who love to say "go to the greek/hebrew text!"

Ha, I smell a new topic brewing.

I too have witnessed many younger Christians reffering to God, not just as father but "mother-father God." I get peeved when I hear this. God makes it clear that He is..Well..HE.

Bothersome. Possibly a door for satan to stick his foot in.

Van....

Dear CCGR,
If you look first at 1 Corinthinians 12:3 and use only those translations that have the WORD "the" in "Jesus is the Lord" or "The Lord Jesus, except by the Holy Ghost", you can technically throw the rest in a trash can.
i keep copies on them on hand to use when speaking with men who have notions to use them.
i am nothing0.
JESUS IS THE LORD1PRAISE THE LORD1THE LORD YESHUA. AMEN

so since you forgot the 'THE' does that mean we can start (or more accurately  continue) ignoring  your posts??

Tell me then little one, where did i forget the word "the".
i am nothing0 and can easily correct all manner of human error. amen
JESUS IS THE LORD1PRAISE THE LORD1THE LORD YESHUA. AMEN

ah sorry, I misread, for some reason while glancing over your post, i thought the first part of the last line said 'Lord Jesus' without the 'The' to make 'The Lord Jesus'

but I do have to admit, your posts are getting a lot more readable, and as such I tend to actually read them nowadays.

oh yeah, don't call me little one.

READ THEM AND BE VERY CRITICAL OF THEM.
After all i too must have errors.
Together perhaps we can remove them.
i depend on the diligent efforts of all men who same as i have suffered some doubts.
In time i will not have a single one.
High Spiritual places such as this are the battlegrounds where a GREAT TRUTHE IS FORGED. AMEN
i suggest if you care to, delete you last TWO posts and start over.
i am nothing0.
JESUS IS THE LORD1PRAISE THE LORD1THE LORD YESHUA. AMEN

Until you have taught me something Spirtual, you will remain little one. amen
i am nothing0.
JESUS IS THE LORD1PRAISE THE LORD1THE LORD YESHUA. AMEN

I also went with "other" because, like Malohaut, I use multiple versions.  My three favorites are NIV, NKJV, and NASB though.  NIV does have the aforementioned "issues," but I think it still comes in handy sometimes.  The character of God still shines through.  But if you're just looking for something easy to understand, I'd say NASB is the way to go.  I definitely stick to NASB or NKJV if I'm doing some serious study/research.

I have met a lot of Christians who state that the only "correct" version to use is KJV. I can see where they are coming from and it certainly carries a lot more depth to many of the scriptures. But I generally use a lot of different versions to come up with the general thought of what the scriptures are saying.
Although having said that, I find the NKJV is easier to understand in it's present day language, but still carries the depth of the KJV.

Quote[/b] ]I believe any version is better than none, but the transgendered Bible irks me

I understand what you mean.

Actually, in the Chinese language there is a special third-person pronoun reserved only for God. This ideograph contains a component or "radical" that represents an altar used to worship God. All God-related words (e.g. prayer, blessing) in Chinese contain this radical. But God is still referred to as the Father.

I hope you don't see this as "transgendered"

for me i just use my niv study bible. anything more than that and a concordance is to much for me i have trouble understanding the old english or watever u wanna call it

Trying to understand the KJV takes me too long... I'm lazy, and prefer the NKJV, and want instant understanding of the language

i agree with ya but hwoever wouldt u learn alot more by working harder at understanding it? just a thought

Oh, I can undestand KJV, just takes slower reading...Perhaps that's a good thing... Maybe I should be more patient
