hahaha!! I get that alot! I'm what you'd call a fan of up and coming bands, so most bands that I love and are influenced by are not anywhere near being main stream stuff.

theres more but those are the ones i play the most.

now secular music.
carlos santana, aaliyah, ac/dc, aphex twin, collective soul, dave matthews band, everclear, edgewater(great local band), garth brooks, george strait, hoobastank, joe statriani, john mayer, kenny wayne shepard, kraftwerk, matchbox 20, no doubt, norah jones, offspring, paul oakenfold, pearl jam, sarah mclachlan, smashing pumpkins, stevie ray vaughn, u2, utada hikaru, weezer, zwan.

Audio Adrenaline, Five Iron Frenzy (they sound like 30s(?) Big Band music) Relient K, POD, and Pillar.

I just don't understand liking 1 or 2 genres of music. I like Bluegrass country, Hard Rock, Some new country, Ska, Soft(er) rock (Sheryl Crow pwnz), a rap song, some pop, and anything by J.S. Bach (the music I listen to while playing CS).

Widen your palette, so to speak.

I havent heard of al those bands.. which is why i pose this question...

I am after some new music (since the splitting of Living Sacrifice weighs heavy on me)... I am after some post-hardcore which (for those that dont know) is basically a mix of old and new school metal styles with 1 or 2 singers that switch between the hardcore growl and the emo clean vocal.

Bands like Demon Hunter, Killswitch Engage etc.. are good examples... I need a christian killswitch cos they rock so hard but they kicked the christian guy out the band.

Email me rizz_rat@yahoo.co.uk if you know of any bands.. I have scoured mp3.com forever for them but none can be found. Any local bands etc would be the key. If you can mail me a CD or IRC me the mp3s that would rox0r

I listen to music mostly for its artistic value, which believe it or not isnt as common as youd think. The average person doesnt really even have an understanding of what true definition of art is, so, most of you probably listen to different bands simply because you listen for different reasons. Ph34r the 80s!!!
