Greetings\. I am writing to ask if there have been any server problems or troubles specifically with the cgalliance account \(web site is www\.cgalliance\.org\) that would result in repeated cases of site downtime\. Our forums currently have over 800 registered users and many have complained that they are frequently unable to access the site\. I understand that forums are demanding when it comes to bandwidth, but I chose phpwebhosting because of past experience with the company and the promise of unlimited bandwidth--within reason, of course\.

Please let me know if there are any plans to upgrade, update, or otherwise fix your web hosting servers to increase reliability in the future\. I really don't want to shop for new web hosts, but with so many users involved in our forums and the forums being the heart of our community, I need something more stable\.

Thank you for your time and service\.

Hi,

The issue does not appear to be bandwidth - we do not place limits on it. However it may be that your account is using too many resources (cpu, etc.) I will check out all the logs and see if I can find where the problem is at.

Are there particular times that you see the outages or does it just appear to happen randomly?

Best Regards,

Greg

Any time you have a problem with the forums loading slowly or not at all, please record the date and time of problem and report it on this thread as soon as possible. I would like to give phpwebhosting as much information as possible to help eliminate this problem.

I know that our mailserver is probably under a fairly larger load than normal, just yesterday I downloaded 103 copies of mydoom at 11pm, today I downloaded abour 140 of them at 4:00pm. There is no way for me to filter them other than client side, phpwebhosting would have to set up a filter for mydoom on their time.

11:00am CST-11:30am CST

Problem: Couldn't find the server.

Though that could have been the DNS reseting here at work...

This forum is always a lot slower for me than most other forums I frequent. I don't think it has to do with any particular time of day, I think it's just running on a slow or memory starved server.

I know that doesn't help much.
