Video Card upgrade

Officer SOE/LoE/Where's "here"?
I am seriously thinking of trying to upgrade my video card for GW2, currently I have a NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250. My system has a gaming score of 5.7, and the big hold up is the hd, but that will be a moot point for GW2. I'm more concerned with the demands on the video card. Yes I know the GTS 250 is several generations above the minimum requirement, but I would like to get the best graphics experience I can. The problem is cash, my budget is in the $70-$80 range. Currently I am thinking of this http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=852269&CatId=3669
or a similar card. I have heard some comments that it is slower than the 440 series of cards.
Another card of interest http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814162086
The GTX 500 series is nice, but priced way above what I can do. The other reason for the card is I can take my current one and stuff it in my better halfs comp which is currently running integrated video.

The 520 is much worse than your 250. The 520 is a HD media center card, not a gaming card. For gaming, it is pretty much terrible. Huge waste of money.

I think your better of sticking with the 250 in your price range. Anything under $80 won't run to much better than your 250, unless you can find a really really good deal.

If you can find the money, and want a decent upgrade, I'd say go for a 460. The 450 isn't bad either. It benches a bit higher than the 250.

BUT PLEASE, do your self a favor, and don't waste your money on a 520! You will have performance decrease.

If you do need a second card (so your wife can have yours), and $80-$90 is your maximum, the 450 is the way to go (if anyone thinks I'm wrong, please post). It isn't a huge upgrade from the 250, but between a 250 and a 450, the 450 has better performance (at least in benchmarks).

I would also agree but I would save up to go to the Radeon HD 6870 a lot more bang for you buck there.... the 6850 not a bad choice either.

I have had bad times with Radeon, and I am running an Intel chipset so I'd like to stick with a combination that is working.
