Very difficult to do raids with current schedule

Hi folks. I joined the guild a few months ago with interest in going raiding with all of you but was disappointed to see that the raid schedule prevents me from doing so. I am unable to get on WoW until 9PM EST on any given night since I need to put my kids to bed.

From some of the chatter on the guild channel, I've gathered that some of you may have kids as well. How do you manage to join raids that start at 8:00PM EST? Do you and your spouse take turns sending the kids to bed?

Also, what is the possibility of maybe having raids start at 9PM EST? This will give folks on the west coast time to get back from work and also allow us parents to finish taking care of our kids. Only a suggestion. If most people are comfortable with the current schedule, that's fine. I'll just continue doing working on the tier .5 armor chain (almost up to Valthalak) :)

Well.....I know this raid leader has been falling asleep in raids past 9 server....need to work on more coffee or something hehe. We start the raids at 5 server so we can play for 4 hours before its midnight on the east coast (also why MC's not during the week). It is very hard to accomodate all the time zones....That being said...if you are only going to be an hour late...sign up in queue (put that you can't be on until 6 server) and let me know when you come on. We have other raiders that show up an hour late every week out of necessity (work and church).

Hopefully we can work something out so you can join us more often in MC. Onyxia usually starts later..check the start time on that one.

That's great to hear. Wasn't sure how rigid the rules were in terms of promptness. I under the difficulty of scheduling raids when people across 3 timezones are playing. Being an 'older' timer myself, I too get drowsy around midnight. I remember playing Diablo till 5AM and then waking up at 7AM for work years ago. Body/mind just can't take it any longer.

We can take down the first few bosses with a few missing -- chances of a wipe are higher, but not unbearable.

Hope to see you in there!

Icthus is the only person i know in the guild that puts his kids to bed. He would be a perfect candidate to ask.

A kindred spirit!!!! I remember playing Ultima Online at 2am because that is when the lag was not as bad. 2-6 ohhh the wife hated me.

Anyways.... I am on Pacific Time. I do put my kids down everynight. My wife helps, but the kids are 9 & 12. They bath and all that by themselves.

Onyxia will begin about 9 Eastern on Mondays. If you sign up with a note you might be a bit late we will save a spot for you. I cannot speak for MC they often get full.

Meemee I can feel your pain. When I was on Warsong it was a eastern server and they started raids at 5PM EST. I had no chance since I did not even leave work if I was lucky untill that time. However we usually continue to pickup and loose people during the night for one reason or the other. This is actually for everyone. DON'T think you can not raid if you can not make it on time. Get on anyway and even though it may be full you could get put on a list to get in as soon as a possible. I would suggest to just go farm, grind or do BG's or whatever it is you like on your own and I would guess over 50% of the time you will be able to get in at one point or another. As far as the kid issue thing I have two kids ages 11 and 8. My wife is pretty gracious to me most of the time and takes care of putting the critters to bed. However I have to do wife faction as much as possible to continue my addiction of WoW. So be careful and make sure you take care of your better half first. What can I say except its purely a balancing act. Just keep your spouse always first. Sometimes it can be difficult.

LAWL avesther...my old RTCW(Return to Castle Wolfenstein) clan reminds me of Avesther & teh Gob1337 the 2 main leaders were husband and wife...except they cuss a whole lot on vent, well at least the husband did lol...anyways I put myself to bed and I'm 17, I also scrub my own body...

Right on Avesther, keeping my wife happy so I can run MC means making sure Laraptor is repaired and full of regs and mana pots before MC because she gets home just in time for invites and would be rushed if she had to run around before MC hehe.

Happy wife = happy life

And

Happy wife that plays WoW = Ecstatic life !!!

My wife and I used to play DAOC together. Then we had kids. She seems to have lost her desire to play computer games altogether. Oh well, the last one will be off to college in 17 years so maybe she'll start again!
