I want to thank you all for having me, however briefly. I do not want to "push away" or alienate myself from the "Gentiles" like the Pharisees did and thus totally destroy any witness I may have.
The Pharisees weren't the only one's to alienate the Gentiles .. All Jews did that. Even Jesus said he was only here for the Jews. (Mark 7:24-30, Matthew 15:21-28) Though what He did on the cross set all men free (Jew and Gentile).
The Pharisees considered themselves more righteous than everyone and loved to be honored by men instead of being humble and being honored by God. Along with a bunch of other things I can mention that God hated.
As far as the guild is concerned, the reason for having a Christian guild is not to alienate ourselves from the sinners or the world but to be surrounded by people that honor, respect, and know God. To encourage one another in the Lord. To be a blessing to fellow brother's and sister's and Christ. And if need be, to loving correct our brothers and sisters who we see heading down the wrong path. I have been in none Christian guilds in other games and to tell you truth I got really tired of Lord's name being used in vain and other fowl talk. I got tired of the worldly attitudes of the members, the disrespect for God and fellow man.
I spoke with Eileronis (sp?) today and I just felt that I would be "exempt" from socializing with said "Gentiles" if I "hid" in The Elect.
NO......I do not think everyone in The Elect is hiding, but I would be if I stayed.
I need some clarity on this one because I'm not understanding your reasoning. Correct me if I'm wrong but from this line of reasoning you could say that I go to church to hide and keep from socializing with Gentiles. To me being a member of a church and a member of a Christian guild is the same thing to me.
I just know that the human, Jesus, whose Deity could not interfere with His humanity in any way, shape or form, went to where the Gentiles were and ministered there
.
Can you point this out to me in the Bible and explain it a bit because it just seems way out there to me? If anything Jesus's humanity was put under the authority of His Deity. How else did He go without sinning? God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). Jesus's Spirit is God. He put on earthly flesh but He walked by the Spirit. "Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner." (John 5:19) This tells me He did nothing in the flesh or in His humanity that wasn't subjected to His Spirit, His Deity.
They were drawn to him like a bee to honey. And I feel as though these same peeps "seeking guidance and redemption" would not be drawn to me as a member of The Elect.
Jesus said "..., if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself." (John 12:32) Why would it make any difference if you were in The Elect or not as long as you are lifting up the name of Jesus? Would the result not be the same?
May I ask were you are going to send these people once they do come to the saving knowledge of Jesus? Where can they go to get ministered to, to meet others who believe like they do now, to help them stay strong in Christ and not slip back into the world? Will you be afraid to point them to The Elect for fear that might be "hidden"?
Be safe, have fun, and God Bless.
Brother I love you no matter what you do and if you have had a talk with the Lord and He has told you that He would prefer that you do His work without a guild tag than by all means honor God!
Please remember though, we are at war. We have an enemy that kills, steals and destroys and he loves to pick off Christians one at a time. He will lie and say what ever he can to get you away from God and in the world.
God Bless You!
Love Always in Christ Jesus Our Lord!
