Using onboard HDMI in addition to a PCI-e Radeon 4870

Would it be possible to use an onboard HDMI out with a Radeon 4870 in one of the PCI-e slots?

I noticed on the sound card options that the HDMI is listed (there is an icon for it, look at the picture) but I don't know how to turn it on...

Do you guys and gals think it would be possible to use the onboard and the radeon at the same time? I know you usually cant... just wondering :)

The sound card is by Realtek on a Gigabyte MA790GP-DS4H.

you might try a split screen image if it's in your video card options or properties. You'll have to put it to a seperate monitor or tv (2 different sources to view).

Usually the onboard video is disabled in the bios when you occupy a pci-e slot with the vid card. You might choose onboard video then see if it lets your pc identify the video card. gl

What "onboard"s are you asking if you can use at the same time?

If you're asking about audio, which I assume you are...then I believe the ATI driver set has some components that allow the Realtek devices to channel their output through that HDMI out...should be able to google it (or BING it :)) and check that out.

Of those, this link is interesting...http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1029603&page=59

i.e. you need to have it hooked up to an audio capable display.

you can link the two via a cable IF the video card has an audio input.

Have you tried reading the motherboard manual?

The 4xxx series has HDMI audio. I know because I have to disable the annoying buggers because they like to get default in linux and windows.

I was meaning video, lol. And No it will not work. I'm already running two screens, Thank yall!
