Isaiah 41:10
Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
10 Do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be afraid, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you; I will help you;
I will hold on to you with My righteous right hand.
I'm sure I may have used this before, if not me, then someone else. It is one of the great promise verses in the Bible. It also is used in the great old hymn How Firm a Foundation. When it all seems to be coming apart, or not coming together we get terribly anxious and fearful of what may be coming. Whether it be be finances, sin in our life, relationships, health, or a combination of this or other items we get into an anxious, fearful funk. According to this verse that is not what we should do if we claim to belong to God. Got a serious case of anxiety about the future? Read this verse slowly, savor each individual promise, pray and meditate on them. And if you remain anxious, then examine how big you think our God really is. Seriously, He is big enough to handle it all.
