To silithus, and beyond!!!!

Last night we had 10 60s (woohoo) in silithus to summon the dukes! I believe this may be a "The Forgiven" first. GREAT JOB to everyone who was there ...

We killed 12 dukes and each duke has a 50/50 or so chance to drop a blue item. For every 3 dukes killed we are able to turn in the signet rights for a sack of spoils which has yet another chance (say 25%) to give another blue boe item. Grats to Zenoir on the windshear cape!

We had 3 2H swords drop, 1 1h mace, and 2-3 blue leg items (2 mail, maybe one more dont remember).

Since many of us can still benefit from the 15 or so blue items I am suggesting we make Tuesday night the "duke" night! To prepare for that we will need several of us to farm for twilight sets during the week in silithus.

It will take 48 twilight sets and 12 shards to yield 12 medallions and the ability to summon 12 dukes. Shane, Adam, and I will be killing templars throughout the week and I will turn the resulting crests into medallions. Here is what I need from you:

1. Send any twilight set items (cowl, mantle, robe) to Demetrius.
2. Send 1 or 2 large brilliant shards to Demetrius - I will need 12 of em
3. Feel free to join us as we casually farm silithus .. it can be solo'd but it is more fun in groups of 2 or 3.
4. Show up next Tuesday night at a tbd time to kill the dukes. We should see 6-7 blue items and another 6-7 green items before the night is done.

Lastly, if you have any extra twilight texts please send to Osk for he is farming in silithus for the darkrune breastplate patterns. Also, Osk can you send me any scrolls you get to make the signets/scepters please. These items come in your mail after several hours after you hand 10 texts at a time to the give in the cave in SE silithus.

There are blue items dropping for all classes and we will roll on them equally, if you have a need for the item.

I would also point out that when 1.9 comes out a new 20 man and 40 man instance will be open in southern silithus. There is a rumor of a new 3 piece set per class that will be availalble... so it might be good to do the current quests in silithus to get your cenarion circle rep up!

I wish this kind of thing could be posted on a calendar, start time end time etc.. (on the new board)?
 
It happened in real time but you are right, the new site will have a calendar which will show what events are going down and when. In particular, I think its important that the time/place/leader is listed. We are getting close with the site but I am still waiting for people (registered users) to start submitting news. The site lives by having content, no content, its stale and booooorrrrrrrinng.
 
time/place/leader would be perfect. A great way for members to host thier own events and see if anyone else is interested.
 
I'd just like to say that the Twilight guys in Silithus are great farming if you're bored or need a little coin. They drop a fair chunk of Runecloth...and you KNOW that Runecloth sells well on the AH.
 
Update on Silithus. Thanks to Esua for many, many twilight set pieces. Thanks to many of you who sent large brilliant shards to turn the crests into medallions (Neirai, Deedlyt). Thanks to Ironwolfe who has helped me kill close to 50 templars in two different sessions this week. I now have 12 more medallions and 12 twilight sets that will allow us to summon the dukes this evening.

I understand that a few of you cannot make it this evening (Zenior, Deedlyt) but the rest of you join us when you can. Feel free to join later on in the evening if you have time. We will start gathering in Silithus at 8pm. We will need 7 players to comfortably take the dukes down including a good healer and a tank. We will just farm silithus for twilight sets and kill templars until enough of you are online to get started with the dukes.

Once all of the dukes are down, I will have 12 signet rings to turn in for 4 "sacks of spoils". There is a good chance that 2 blues will come out of these sacks, and these blues are a little better than what drops off the dukes.

If you are reading this and are not familiar with silithus ... there are 3 levels of bosses that can be summoned: templars, dukes, lords. The templars take 2 to kill and the dukes take 7 ppl to kill. The Lords take 20+ and in fact Ironwolfe and I helped Ascensum kill one last night. They are not easy to kill and have a nasty AOE that keeps the healers busy. The templars drop crests which are used to make a medallion to summon dukes. The dukes drop signet rings which are used to summon lords, but that requires revered status with cenarion circle. I will be revered with cenarion circle in the next few weeks so perhaps we can talk of doing an SGA night killing the Lords. The Lords have a 50/50 chance or so to drop an epic item.

Also, the next 20 and 40 man instances will be in silithus with 1.9. Details have not been announced but there will be a first ever, server wide event to open the gates in silithus to this new area... and all players on server will be invited to help to do so (via item turnins in various cities I think ... ie Iron bars, etc)

Ahhh Deedlyt.... since I will be the raid leader tonight I will represent you bro!

Just let us know which item (+dam cape right?) you are looking for and I can ask those present for their buy in to save the item for you. If someone present has a sincere need then they will get the item. If that is not the case, then check your mail on Wednesday for I will send it to you!!!!

I am sure that nobody would object to this since you are often doing so many things for others, that they would be happy to return the many favors in this way.

What do you think of doing a SGA run on the Lords (lvl 3 silithus mob) at some point in the future? That means we will need to stop using our signet rings for a sack of spoils and save them for summoning the Lords. Again, someone will need to be revered with Cenarion Circle to do so. Perhaps you can post this to SGA and get the word out and also see if anyone is already revered with CC. I think we could ask a few guilds to provide 3 signet rings and I am happy to help summon Lords once I am revered. In addition, the final quest in silithus is a raid boss that takes 20+ ppl to kill. If we had a solid raid group of 20 we could add 10 locals to kill that raid boss. So a night in silithus may include killing 3 Lords and the raid boss. The Lords are summoned at the greater windstones and I have been told the spawn time is 2 hours as an fyi.

Haha. I was kidding about the ticket thing. It is the Crystaline Threaded Cloak I'm looking for, but if I'm not there I'd much rather it go to whoever is there or even to your bank! I've got no claim on it :) Even more though, I hate that I'll be missing out on great guild fun. BTW, I don't think Lunarmyst will make it on tonight, so you may actually be short a few 60s :(

If we are short on 60s tonight we will just make other plans, or just farm in silithus. Ironwolfe and I are trying to get him the crystal tipped stilletto that drops from the fire templar. We killed 13 fire templars last night and did not see this rare drop!

So far I know that Deedly Lunarmyst Allanon cannot make it. So we will just go with the flow!

I would be interested in making a run to DM sometime too. Demetri needs to get keyed (DM East) and Demetrius needs a mana regen trink (DM West). I am sure there are still a few blue items in DM North that could benefit the guild as well. I also think we have a few players that need strath 5 man too so we should maybe get a DM and Strath night planned.

We killed 15 dukes tonight in silithus with some sga members. Only 5 of 15 dukes dropped a blue item:

blue mail of sorcery
blue cloth of sorcery
blue plate of restoration
blue 1h axe soulrender
blue 2h sword darkstone claymore

so maybe the odds are more like 33% rather than 50%.

We will be killing dukes again Wed night 8pm server time. I have mats to summon another 12 dukes so join us if you are up for it.
