Deuteronomy 10:12-13Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

What God Requires
12 “And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you except to fear the Lord your God by walking in all His ways, to love Him, and to worship the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul? 13 Keep the Lord’s commands and statutes I am giving you today, for your own good.

Ever wonder what you are supposed to be doing as a Christian? This commandment given to Israel is still applicable to us as Christians today. I think the best part is the reminder in verse 13 that is for our own good.

That's exactly how God wanted them to live in order for Him to have protected from their enemies; however, they have chosen to rebel against God. As Christians, we have to live a God-fearing life in the sense that because we love Him so much, we don't want to do anything that can hurt Him.
