I found a new social networking site today, but this one is Christ centered. Thought I'd spread the news, and let my fellow brother and sister gamers know about it.

If you make an account, feel free to add me as a friend!

Would I be allowed to make a ToJ/CGA group there, or would a specific officer be in charge of that? If so, you now have the link. =)

Part of me welcomes any new opportunity to promote the Christian Gamers Alliance.

Part of me asks, "How many 'Facebook or MySpace for Christians' have we seen come and go now?" (That would be the cynical part.)

Another part is reminded how many public resources members already maintain for Tribe of Judah: a Facebook page, a Twitter feed, multiple Steam Community groups, a web site, forums, etc. (That would be the administrator part.)

I'm not opposed to creating a Churchyard group or page for the Alliance or for Tribe of Judah, but I would need a dedicated staff member to take care of each (or either).

If someone's willing to invest the time and effort to keep a CGA Churchyard page going, contact cgdoc519 via PM and copy me on the message. For a ToJ Churchyard page, contact Elihu and copy me on the PM.

EDIT: I want to stress that any page created would need to be maintained. If a page starts to gather dust, we'll shut it down. If the staff member maintaining the page goes MIA or resigns from staff, the page will be shut down unless someone steps in to fill the role in a reasonable amount of time. It doesn't reflect well on an organization when its Facebook group hasn't seen any activity for 6-12 months.

Well, I'll watch and see how they continue to improve The Churchyard, and if it keeps me aboard, I'll volunteer to upkeep a group there, unless somebody else does before then.
