Well, 5 of us spent the evening getting the complete set. They're definately worth it if you RvR, although you'll probably lose some Wounds. The worst part is having to grind on some spiders for one of the items; it takes about 120 kills.
 
371 to all your resists is nice. This would be an awesome set for going against casters.

Problem I have is that as a tank I need toughness, wounds, initiative, and resists to survive, so they are a bad trade for me, since I can just put on a few +100 resist talismans and call it good.

Just my 2 cents as a tank.

The problem is that it's 371 to all resists... so it really takes close to 11 or 12 talismans to make up the same amount of resists, across the board.

But, sacrificing off 600 hp, a bunch of tough/initiative/whatever is a tough trade.
 
It's not just the resist's, the set bonuses are pretty good. Defiantly not something I would want to have happening to me.
