lol oops, carried away again! All things Biblically considered of the soul! All that brought me back to what I already believed. I am curious about the coorelation of soul and Spirit. If our body did not house the soul and Spirit, would we just be an invisible entity? How are the two related? I understood that we could be recognized in Heaven because of our soul. Does our soul live on as part of our Spirit? Do we only have the Holy Spirit or an evil spirit?
Another mystery of God and something to look forward to knowing without that through the glass darkly business!
Our souls begin with the very breath of God:
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Genesis 2:7
And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. I Corinthians 15:45
A soul can live:
Say, I pray thee, thou art my sister: that it may be well with me for thy sake; and my soul shall live because of thee. Genesis 12:13
Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live. Genesis 19:20
...and therefore die:

A soul is able to bless someone:

A soul can love:

A soul can be in anguish:
And they said one to another, We are verily guilty concerning our brother, in that we saw the anguish of his soul, when he besought us, and we would not hear; therefore is this distress come upon us. Genesis 42:21
A soul can become entangled with wrongdoing:
O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their selfwill they digged down a wall. Genesis 49:6
Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men: Psalms 26:9
A soul can be cut off from it's people:
Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel. Exodus 12:15
A soul can sin:
If a soul sin, and commit a trespass against the LORD, and lie unto his neighbour in that which was delivered him to keep, or in fellowship, or in a thing taken away by violence, or hath deceived his neighbour; Leviticus 6:2
And if any soul sin through ignorance, then he shall bring a she goat of the first year for a sin offering. Numbers 15:27
A soul can bear iniquity:
And if any of the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings be eaten at all on the third day, it shall not be accepted, neither shall it be imputed unto him that offereth it: it shall be an abomination, and the soul that eateth of it shall bear his iniquity. Leviticus 7:18
Our souls need a Blood Atonement:
For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul. Leviticus 17:11
...and therefore are unclean.
And every soul that eateth that which died of itself, or that which was torn with beasts, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger, he shall both wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even: then shall he be clean. Leviticus 17:15
A soul can be cut off from the LORD:
Say unto them, Whosoever he be of all your seed among your generations, that goeth unto the holy things, which the children of Israel hallow unto the LORD, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from my presence: I am the LORD. Leviticus 22:3
A soul can be rebellious, and hate:
And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant: Leviticus 26:15
A soul can be dried away:
But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes. Numbers 11:6
A soul can bind itself with a bond, including that of marriage:
And her husband heard it, and held his peace at her in the day that he heard it: then her vows shall stand, and her bonds wherewith she bound her soul shall stand. Numbers 30:7
A soul can be afflicted:
Every vow, and every binding oath to afflict the soul, her husband may establish it, or her husband may make it void. Numbers 30:13
We should protect our soul:
Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons; Duteronomy 4:9
Our soul has the ability to seek after God:
But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. Duteronomy 4:29
...and love Him with it's entirety:
And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. Duteronomy 6:5
...and serve Him completely.
And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, Duteronomy 10:12
We can keep God's Word in our soul:
Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. Duteronomy 11:18
A soul can lust:
Notwithstanding thou mayest kill and eat flesh in all thy gates, whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which he hath given thee: the unclean and the clean may eat thereof, as of the roebuck, and as of the hart. Duteronomy 12:15
Our souls can bind in friendship and love:
If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers; Duteronomy 13:16
And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul. I Samuel 18:1
...most importantly with the LORD.
Yet a man is risen to pursue thee, and to seek thy soul: but the soul of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of life with the LORD thy God; and the souls of thine enemies, them shall he sling out, as out of the middle of a sling. I Samuel 25:29
Our soul can keep God's commandments:

A soul has strength:

A soul can be hunted and taken:

A soul can be redeemed of the LORD!

Our soul counsels us:

Our soul can be put into hell:

God's Word can convert our soul:

We do not have power over it's existence:

God restores our soul:
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Psalms 23:3
Our soul has the ability to be vain:
He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. Psalms 24:4
Our soul can/should be lifted up to the LORD:
Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul. Psalms 25:1
A man who fears the LORD:
His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth. Psalm 25:13
The LORD can keep our soul:
O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee. Psalms 25:20
The LORD will protect our soul:
O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. Psalms 30:3
...rescued from the intended destruction of others:
Lord, how long wilt thou look on? rescue my soul from their destructions, my darling from the lions. Psalms 35:17
...and He knows it:
I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities; Psalms 31:7
Our soul can quietly wait expectantly to hear from God:
Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield. Psalms 33:20
Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation. Psalms 62:1
The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. Lamentations 3:25
My soul should brag on God..His goodness...His provision...His Sacrifice...His Gift of Salvation:
My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. Psalms 34:2
The LORD speaks to the soul:
Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation. Psalms 35:3
Our soul shall be joyful in the LORD:

A soul is humbled and chastened through fasting:
But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom. Psalms 35:13

A soul can be destroyed:
