The Passing of Charlie Kirk

I've heard about the passing death, or as we should call it in some ways, "The Assassination of Charlie Kirk." This will be a touchy subject matter that some of us will agree or disagree on. Either we have different ideas about him or share them. To those who don't know about him, he's a right-wing political activist, media personality, and the founder of a Conservative Organization, Turning Point USA, but he was also a father and a believer in Christ like us, who went to the Calvary Chapel. He was speaking in Utah but was mercilessly assassinated, 1 day before the anniversary of 9/11, which is even scarier. What do you guys think of it? I tried to keep it from here cause I feel like it would be unnecessary, but I believe I don't have a choice now to share it. I personally think it was all wrong to see what happened to Charlie, and though he has things that some of us disagree on, we can all agree that he is a human being like Trump, Vance, and Elon. All Charlie was doing was telling the truth and speaking with those who disagreed with him. People have called this a politically motivated or a political assassination over his beliefs, which is just dead wrong to kill someone because you disagree with them. It is also terrible that people are celebrating the assassination as if he deserved it, and it doesn't even help that this was before 9/11's anniversary.

RIP: Charlie Kirk (1993 - 2025) (Father, Brother in Christ, Honorable Friend)

I'll share the response I posted to the CGA Discord server earlier this week:
I'll be brief in my reply and agree that political violence is abhorrent and runs contrary to Christian principles and the example set by Christ. I also agree that Americans, regardless where they land on the political spectrum, must make every reasonable effort to bring down the temperature of rhetoric and discourage political violence.

Whether it's the assassination of Charlie Kirk yesterday, the assassination of Melissa Hortman in June, the assassination attempt on Trump last July, or the violent attack on Nancy Pelosi's husband in 2022, or many other examples, political violence is unacceptable. Consider this a warning that celebrating a political assassination or advocating for political violence is grounds for being removed from this server.

As Christians, we can and should grieve the fallen state of the world together, but we must also remember that our hope is in Christ, who people expected to overthrow Rome as a military leader but instead laid down His life as a sacrifice to forgive our sins. The prophets wrote about their own frustrations with seeing the wicked appearing to escape judgment and accountability, but they still trusted God to render justice. They didn't give in to despair and neither should we. Ultimately, Christ will rule and make all things right.
If you decide to research Kirk's political positions, I recommend seeking out sources known for low bias and high factuality. Kirk was a polarizing figure and misinformation tends to spread quickly after episodes of political violence. I've found the AllSides Media Bias Chart to be a helpful starting point in recognizing media bias and Ground News a helpful news aggregator that can help identify and fill blind spots in news coverage.
[...] though he has things that some of us disagree on, we can all agree that he is a human being [...]
Exactly. It's possible and should be the norm that when you disagree with a person's ideas or positions, you provide a counterargument without attacking that person verbally or physically. It's always important that Christians speak truth in love, but it seems especially important in a culture deeply affected by social media algorithms that incentivize reinforcing existing beliefs and provoking outrage.
