The Flying Hamster

For the uninitiated, The Flying Hamster plays like almost any other shmup: collect power-ups, and shoot at enemies using either a rapid or charge shot. What makes it so unique is its collection of power-ups and enemies: you can spit a stream of beer at cows, for example. Or launch a swarm of bees at ninja squirrels. Or drop some egg bombs on some evil toaster robots. Seriously.

Oh man. I may have to get this. I loved the Parodius series and this looks similar. Plus: Ninja squirrels.

EDIT: Here's a trailer for the game. The game features octopi, so I want to play it. That's the rule.

+1 for vertical...no idea why people want to limit the mobility with horizontal. FYI Tek, you might also check out the Soldner X games...also horizontal but good. Very german euro-techie feel to them, but good.
