HOLY COW - by far the best movie of the summer and i would say for the rest of the year - was the Dark Knight. GO SEE IT. the screen play, the acting, the joker, the personality, the twists, the manipulation, the dispear. EVERYTHING WAS SOOO AWESOME! anyone else go to the midnight showing?

My wife and I plan on seeing it at the IMAX theater this weekend, assuming my mom is able to watch our son :D First movie we've seen since Munich!

Woot! I got to go to the midnight showing!

It seems like a very good percentage of the people in the audience were students from the college as well...

But yes, it was very, very amazing.

I'm going to go see it tonight.
I'm really pumped. Though... i think i do know a large twist.

From my knowledge of reading the comic book,
Harvey is two-face... that was kinda obvious. I hope that isn't the only huge twist... thing

I hate you all... lol j/k

But i am bummed i have to wait until the 24th, i am a big comic book guru (and yes i knew about the spoiler.. have you seen the composites on the web.. yeeesh)

I wacthed it online... thank heavens they are getting serious with it again after the steaming turd that was T3

dude i thought T3 was a kool movie...... much better than the first

sigh.....

sigh?

So, your a Terminator fan?

For the current movie series, I think T2 was the best, followed by T3 then T1.

As for Dark Knight, I'd like to see it on DVD when it comes out a while later.

But for the Batman series: Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Begins, and then the other 3.

I too thought T3 was inane.

1. Lets make a female terminator because women have to kick butt too.
2. Lets make Connor (the supposed Hero of the future who was shown in T1 as grizzled and believable) into a whiney Anakin Skywalker.
3. Sarah O'Connor is too old lets throw her out and add Connor a Kick butt girlfriend who will make Connors seem even more incompetent since he has been training his entire life to fight terminators.
4. Hmmm after making the nearly unstoppable liquid terminator in T2 lets give the female terminator weaker powers in this one... uuuuh lets give her a gun hand to make up for it.... not.
5. Hmmm witty saying for the terminator I know "talk to the hand" and lets make it come from a gay guy.
6. Lets remove all character development and likeability from the characters because it gets in the way of the action.
7. We can't possibly let the franchise end lets make a dark future.
8. ...and in general lets make the movie make even less sense than the others, not that it was ever Shakespeare.

Sadly T3 is a standard example for sequels although Dark Knight will probably buck the trend (won't see it till it's on DVD). Honestly I don't understand why it's taken producers so long to treat comic book characters with the seriousness they deserve. Yes comics were originally campy back in the golden age, which is fine, but the previous Batman movies could not decide whether to treat Batman with seriousness or camp thus they failed at both.

The only good thing I remember about T3 was that the whole audience laughed when the army guy said "this is Montana state defense" or something at the end. We were watching the movie in Great Falls, Montana at the time. :P

Getting booked in for the premiere on thursday night .. woohoo..

(ok i know you will have all seen it already, but let me have my moment)

Heath Ledger is gonna be up for a post humous oscar... would he have got it if he was alive? (off topic debate)...
Usually action films dont get into the oscar category.. but he was a top method actor and has been said to have pulled off one of the most sinister bad guys in film history.. is this all corpse-butt-kissing or is his performance /that/ good? what say you who have seen the film?

I must admit that "Dark Knight" is now currently my favorite super hero movie that has come out thus far.
I was amazed by that movie.
My mind was blown by the acting.

Let me put it this way:

I'm not sure how well they can do a movie after this one because of how well done this movie was done...

and i think they have run out of good Batman villains- the only other likely villains they would pick are the Riddler and Mr. Zsasz

The other villains are not very realistic (due to that the batman series has been aiming at realism for their characters. Thus, they probably are not going to pick villains who have super powers).
They have tons of villains, but they are either not realistic or they have super powers. For example: Penguin, Cat Woman, Clay-face, Crok, Baine, Mr. Freeze, Ventriloquist and Scarface, Mad-Hatter, Poison Ivy, etc. *i'm too lazy to type all the villains that i can remember*
