Well if more people would actually study the bible and go back to how it was understood it would help a lot. But most people cannot understand hebrew nor do they understnad that it is a pictoral lonaguage, and not a descriptive one such as english. I believe that when applying it to our lives we need the help of the Holy Spirit as this is an inward application. When apoplying it to the world around us, it is very plain and very simple, and leaves no room for interpretation. So it really depends on what you are reading, and where you are applying that particular section of God's word.

I hope that helps clarify my position a bit more. Also I am sorry I was a little obtuse with the previous statement.

How can you say it leaves no room for interpretation? Just look at this board, how many Christians are here that have differing views and opinions on scripture? Sorry, but the way the Bible is set up, it leaves a wide, gaping chasm of interpretation.

Do you believe that to truly understand the meaning of the Bible, that you need to have an understanding of Hebrew? If you don't, then you are at the mercy of Bible translators. And above and beyond that, you are already at the mercy of those who came up with the canon.
