What is this TF2 game everyone is talking about? Is it a game or what?

Team Fortress 2 is a class based online shooter with two game modes (Capture Point/Capture the Flag) and, as the name suggest, Team gameplay. You got your basic support, defense, and offense classes (total of 9), three different weapons each, and stylized visuals that are similar to what The Incredibles looked like. It's loads of fun, but there is blood, gibbing (body chunks when blown up) and other players usually swear (it is rated M).
