Terraria?

I played my first game session with my 11-year old son at my side. We both had a blast and all we have done is dug out a shelter and survived our first night. ;)

My son and I created our character with a big red afro and alien-green skin. We started in a medium world that we named Neptune.

NICE! :) My daughter is still four so she still just likes the Lego games and Super Mario Wii, but I think she is going to be my gaming partner and action movie watcher...In kung fu panda (the first movie) her favorite part is when the evil tiger escapes and beats up all the Rhinos.. :rolleyes:

That is my favorite part, too! She has great taste.

Yes, crafting and building is a huge part of the game.
 
I like the crafting bit. I loved Minecraft for its building abilities.

I love this game! I got my son and wife hooked and picked up a second copy so we can play multiplayer. I may setup a dedicated server in the future to share with fellow ToJers. Stay tuned.
 
Howdy guys. My wife isn't interested, and my kids are too young (<4) so I would enjoy playing with someone online too. :D Let me know if you set up a server!

I wonder what the bandwidth requirements are. We have DSL here with great downloading, but upload bandwidth is really small. I'll poke around and see what I can discover.
 
Okay, I'll start a server. Let's see how it goes. I'm going to start a new thread about it, so I don't hijack this general Terraria thread.
 
With all the buzz about Terraria on our forum and now even an unofficial CGA Terraria server, I'll have to watch for a sale on this. My next planned gaming purchase is 8 new Sanwa buttons for my PS3 FightStick SE, but if I see this go on sale for 50% off, I'd be willing to snag it on a whim.
 
It would definitely be worth the 5 bucks...:) I had to just quit last night so I could get to bed in time for work. LOL
 
@Tek7: Yeah, I thought about waiting for a sale, but $10 is steal for this game, especially when you consider Minecraft is $20. Last time I checked, the game was still hovering in the top 5 on Steam. I don't see a sale in its future anytime soon.

In addition, I didn't mind supporting the creators. They are still regularly adding new content.
