The gates should be eligible to be opened late Friday night/early Saturday morning. I think Jollygreen of Thrall's Champions will need to hit the gong with the scepter once the army and materials "have arrived" in Silithus.
We can only guess when that is ... but I am guessing it will be sometime late Friday night ... 1am? ... when the server traffic has died down I predict they will say Saturday sometime and then open the gates Friday night. Time will tell...

The gates will be opening saturday. 11pm server friday is a little too late imo. We havent picked a time of day yet, but we're shooting earlier in the day. We're talking with our guild to see a good time everyone can get on so we can participate in the event considering we only have 60 members as opposed to the numerous 80-90+ member raiding guilds on the alliance side. When we figure out a time amongst our guild we'll post it for ya. Anytime it opens the servers gonna crash a bagillion times, so get ready for it
Update from realm page per Viaman of Thralls Champions as to TIME FOR AQ GATE OPENING EVENT:
"In case you didn't see the other post, the time has been set for 1 PM server time on Saturday.
Please understand that the actual time may be later than 1 due to crashes and lag. Maybe the more correct way would be to say that will will attempt to open the gates at 1 PM."
