Does Tek have more computer issues than anyone alive?

Everytime I have done a new build, it's never gone smooth as ice. On average it's taken a month after completion for all kinks to be worked out.

This is pretty much how I see Tek's entire computer.

In all fairness, the mainboard and/or processor that recently passed on were both working 24/7 with very few interruptions for the last few years. Both the CPU and mainboard were purchased in 2005, making both items 7 years old. I'd say they had a good run.

I think it's also worth nothing that the even older A7M266 and Athlon 1GHz that power my even older PC are both still working. If it weren't for the Athlon being so old as to lack certain features required by DirectX, I'd be watching fansubbed anime on that machine until I get the last parts in to complete my next desktop PC.

Now I will say trying to fix my wife's HP Pavilion laptop was a nightmare and that $1100 purchase (~$800 laptop, ~$300 warranty) is now a paperweight after only 3.5 years. We won't be buying an HP again.

My Dell Studio 1737, with its horrendously lousy built-in speakers, is still running as it has been since 2009. The Studio replaced an Inspiron E1705 I received as a graduation gift in 2006; I had so many issues with the screen and video card in the Inspiron that Dell finally replaced it with the Studio. When it comes time to buy a new laptop, I don't play on buying a Dell.

Now there was that exploded capacitor that prompted me to buy a new mainboard and video card in May 2005. But hey, that could have happened to anyone.

...Right?

...Guys?

Um. Why not replace the popped capacitor?
A little late now. I replaced the mainboard with the popped capacitor 7 years ago.

And it wasn't so much the one capacitor that was the issue. The problem was the damage it did to the mainboard and other components.

Someone said something about a broken flux capacitor? Lemme go find 2012 Dr. Brown.

EDIT: In all honesty though tek, I think using plutonium to power your PC is a bit excessive...

Having worked in the IT field for 4 years (many years ago) I can say that based on the number of claims that Tek7 has been posting, he is not the worst. Not love specifically for Tek7, just more annoyance with other people in my past.
