Have you tried adjusting the chip's Front Side Bus speed setting in your PC's BIOS?

Nope, I will look and report back.

Two questions:
which bios version is in that board. Also where did you buy your Athlon XP from and which model is it supposed to be?

I'll find out the version here in a minute. I got all components for my computer from Newegg. [ w00t ] Here's the link to the processor:

http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=0-N82E16819103377

I'll get both details shortly.

Talon: Awesome computer!!! ;)

Mkay, the BIOS is Phoenix 6.00PG [at least, that's what the startup screen says].

The FSB speed is currently set at 100 Mhz, with options available at 133, 166, and 200 Mhz. :S

Yeeep. Check your CPU documentation for the FSB speed then set it in BIOS, if possible. My mobo has a "jumperfree" setting that allows me to set the FSB in BIOS, but I don't know if your mobo has the same feature.
