We're taking suggestions for new names, as a lot of people didn't like 'Choose Joy'. I think that it's important that everyone in the guild can actually like the name, but also that it can stand out in a certain way. Suggestions for other names not mentioned here are welcome

btw, no one in the guild warmed up to the name as much as I'd hoped, but we have received a small handful of compliments from others in the game about it.

Your help in this matter is very much appreciated. If it turns out the poll is close (between deciding to change or to keep it) we will go ahead and decide on a new name.
 
yea if u guys choose mustard seed conspiracy i would shorten it to MSC so people will be interested in what it stands for and we can explain it to them if they have further question we can answer them
 
You know, I was torn between keeping the original and changing it. Bowser was right, the name does grow on you somewhat. The name stands out more than almost any other name could. In the cutthroat world of Warcraft, we choose... joy.

I voted against it though because it's just not a name that I would be proud of bearing. We are going to be together for a while, so it would be best that we choose a name we all would like.

In the end, I voted for Commissioned because that was my original favorite. Mustard Seed Conspiracy just sounds better on the horde side. Also, it wouldn't do very good to shorten it to MSC because that, for one, doesn't stand out very well and two, does not portray who we are by itself.
 
I've started to see alot names like "Choose Joy" on the server.

Now I can't remember the other name...It was a single word that that meant peace as well.
 
I am not sure why we don't keep it consistant and go with TOJ. Even though I understand we may want a real name that means something.
I use to have a guild in Dark Ages that was called Trinity and it always got very postive responses from others.
I also really like Knights of the Trinity used by the DAOC chapter of TOJ. If we went with this name we would keep some uniformity and have a good discriptive title.
If the name is a problem with Blizzard then replace Trinity with Triad.

Rooakh (Spirit of God)
Manthano (Disciples)
Mathano Logos (Disciples of the Living Word)
Ichthus (Fish, This is the sign of the fish that was used by early christians to identify each other. It can be translated to mean Jesus Christ Son of God)
 
Hey I would vote for Knights of the Trinity.

My suggestion is that the two leaders come up with three alternatives for us. Then, we get together and have an in game vote. Those at guild meeting get to vote.
 
In my very humble opinion 'Knights of the Trinity' sounds incredibly boring and very dull to me

It sounds like a typical guild name, which is not something we're aiming for.
 
The Disciples was my input and i like it the most but its not up there... so i chose The Mustard Seed Conspiracy

NWN my girlfriend loves that game. I'm too lazy to find my own avatar so I just used the best one in the list that I'd never seen. Guess this means I oughta change it now that someone else actually uses it.

You guys, conspiracy holds connotations of unlawful deeds. For what it is worth, that is my two cents...the name doesn't carry the banner of a Christian testimony, and it could be interpreted to question God's promise of mustard seed faith.
 
I do like Knights of the Trinity, But I am biased. LOL

How about something a simple as "Faith Keepers"?

Strait forward. Simple, explainable, Solid

I'd hate to suggest changing the name, I am one that voted to keep it.  For simplicity sake, there are over 50 members,,,getting them all back on the guild after a name change will take time.

I've gotten wind that there is going to be a push to report names on the servers again, mostly because of Guilds like "DIE" or those that are just initials.   It could be just a bunch of hot air...it may not be.   Besides, its seems to have been blizzards policy to be more lenient on names in PVP and PVE servers and much more stringent on RP servers.

None the less, a name convention should be adhered to.  We should keep it middle agey while eluding to our beliefs.  I don't think it should sound exclusive, ie...the problem with Knights of anything is that it sounds like something that only paladins would be a part of.  I would be the last person on earth and it will be a cold day in where there is gnashing of teeth when I say that GodsPeons or ChooseJoy are not excellent names.  But neither are middle agey sounding.  And I think that is part of the fun of the game.

Mathano Ichthus  (Almost sounds like a spell incantation

I agree with Marcylene, names that have a negative meaning should be avoided. Conspiricy usually eludes to things hidden, kept under wrap. Harbringer (which I like) is often associated with doom, death and bad news.

.... choosing a name shouldnt be this hard.  A name is not going to be perfect because we arent.  You cant be knit picky, busy picking your knits because your name is not POLITICALLY CORRECT... (i hate that term).  No matter what the name is or isnt youll make someone angry.  Knights is just a group of people doing somthing.  If you guys had a above your heads that said "Tui Mater est Fatuus", id feel pretty stupid b/c i dont knwo what it means and its sorta saying: "you arent good enough and your stupid"  Mustard seed conspiracy is a fantastic name.  dont read a book by its cover.

I have doubts that Mustard Seed Conspiracy would work.. it might go agianst the ToU, all it would take is someone too do some research and find out the meaning of the name and then they disband us.
