Taking Control of My Music

Hey guys,

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and didn't forget that it's all about Jesus.

My girlfriend's father just purchased a new MackBook. He had an iPod with a few gigs of music on it and he doesn't want to reload all the songs disk by disk on his new computer. I used to use iPodRip, but it doesn't seem to work with Leopard. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Also, I just upgraded to Leopard about a minute ago, and I'm definitely liking it! If anyone has any questions, I'd be happy to help out.

Linux is more then capable of pulling the songs out. GTKPod works pretty well. There are several other iPod song managers for OSX, there are probably some that work with leopard.

actually, if memory serves, you can use iTunes attached to an iPod on 5 distinct computers. It should just be a matter of just installing iTunes and then syncing the iPod. Of course, it'll probably take a couple of minutes.

ehhh, I know people have wiped their ipods clean doing something similar. I think iTunes only syncs TO an ipod and not from...

Eh, thanks, but that doesn't help with my Mac!

You're thinking of downloaded iTunes songs. I can share my downloaded songs with 5 different people. However, when you plug your iPod in to a computer, it'll wipe it clean if you try to do any connecting to iTunes.

whoopsie, thought you were atown when I posted as I think he had a few nix boxes. Hmm, I didn't keep the app I used on OSX to transfer music to and fro :\
