I'm happy to report that a Hibernian invasion was stopped late Friday evening at the foot of the keep flying our colors, Sursbrooke.
What was initially a small Hibernian incursion to Benowyc grew with reinforcements over the evening. It became apparent Sursbrooke might be threatened when the Albion defense force was destroyed in an attempt to relieve Hurbury from Hibernian siege.
Cammrin and Aijalon joined a group leaving Fort Sauvage to the rally point of Sursbrooke just as the last defenders of Hurbury were falling in the Lord Room. The race was on: If the Hibs moved quickly they might have been on Sursbrooke before the Albs could reorganize.
We arrived at Surs without event and immediately upgraded the keep to maximum stength.
As our small army began to move to try and catch some forces the Hibs had dispatched back to Beno...we were shocked to see Surs guards dying and to realize the Hib army was upon us...most of us made the port into Surs as the Hibs were equally surprised to see us come from the back of the keep to make a rush inside.
At first the situation looked desparate as the guards were reporting over 50 enemies near Sursbrooke. Several minutes of fierce fighting on the walls ensued. As the smoke cleared the Hibs had been given a bloody nose and the Alb army that was now growing by the minute with reinforcements began to take the offensive and drive the enemy from our lands.
At last report the frontier was secure with 50 Albs in Hadrian's. Sursbrooke has once again been downgraded.
