1 Peter 2:15-16, HCSBFor it is God's will that you, by doing good, silence the ignorance of foolish people. As God's slaves, [live] as free people, but don't use your freedom as a way to conceal evil.
When I read this passage, my mind immediately turns to politics and the exaggerated and extreme rhetoric common in American media. Our energy is better spent doing good and displaying God's freedom for the world to see. (Well-informed voting is also important!) When we demonstrate Christ's love for us through our actions, we shut down ignorant and foolish attacks on Christianity.
