Moses said, “Please, Lord, send someone else.”

Then the Lord’s anger burned against Moses
Exodus 4:13-14, HCSB

When God called Moses to go to Pharaoh, Moses responded with 4 attempts to get out of the call. Considering that Pharaoh had tried to kill Moses and Moses had fled many years prior, his hesitation was understandable.

Yet God was patient (if noticeably exasperated) with Moses, replying to all 4 concerns with answers--answers Moses may not have liked, but answers nevertheless.

It's only when Moses asked God to send someone else that God got angry.

The idea of an angry God is anathema in our culture, but Scripture is clear on God's response to Moses' request in Exodus. But even in this situation, God showed mercy, choosing not to strike Moses down or choose another to help deliver the Israelites (an issue that must have once been close to Moses' heart, given his impulsive murder of the abusive Egyptian slave master).

I could spin this into a, "When God says 'no,' He knows what He's doing" sort of devotional, but I'll instead remind us that God is sovereign and God makes no mistakes when selecting the people to fulfill His purposes (even when those people seem like bizarre choices).
