Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros...

A rare, exclusive, and pretty cool looking level 60 item. Famous for being extremely expensive, cool looking, and most of all, difficult to get. Also the item name color is ORAAANGE

I'm trying to make it.
http://www.wowhead.com/item=17182

Why do I want it? It's just an interesting item to have with a lot of history behind it. It's also a guild achievement to have someone in the guild with one ( http://www.wowhead.com/achievement=4997 ) and it'll look nice with the Paladin Tier Two gear i'm collecting.

This thing isn't easy to make, as I said before. You need to collect a crazy number of mats and then find a blacksmith to craft the epic hammer, and then you must combine that hammer with a certain item that drops from Ragnaros to make the legendary hammer. I've already collected some mats. These are the mats for the epic hammer which must be then combined with the BoP drop from Ragnaros :

MATS:
8 Sulfuron Ingots
20 Dark Iron Bars
50 Arcanite Bars
25 Essences of Fire
10 Blood of the Mountain
10 Lava Core
10 Fiery Core

Sulfuron Ingots - 3/8. Very expensive to buy. I'm trying to find someone to buy them from at a reasonable price and i'm also going to be running Molten Core weekly.

Dark Iron Bars - 0/20. Easy and cheap enough to get; i'm surprised at the lack of them on the Auction House.

Arcanite bars- I'm collecting the reagents to make these. I just need af ew more Arcane Crystals and I should be set. 40/50 right now in terms of crystals, 50/50 in terms of Thorium.

Essence of Fire - 17/25. Dropped by most high-level old world elementals, also crazy droprate in molten core. Got 17 in one run.

Blood of the Mountain - 2/10. This is a pain to get. Dropped RARELY by Molten Destroyers in Molten Core, occasionally mined from Dark Iron deposits.

Lava Core - 9/10. Found in Molten Core.

Fiery Core- 3/10 Found in... You guessed it - Molten Core.

So why am I posting this? I need some help. If anyone could donate the mats I need to make it, or even some gold, it would be very helpful. If you could do something like run molten core when you're bored in sitting in Stormwind and let me know if you find a sulfuron ingot, that would be extremely helpful. I could get this done on my own, but it would take a very long time and be expensive. I'm not asking for the guild to do all the work, but I would appreciate just a bit of help or support. :D

My character in game is named Tornadowatch. If you want to help, just mail something to him or whisper me in game, or post here.

Thanks!
Tornad0.

Thank you, Lloren.

All you need to do is just... Farm. Go into Molten Core and just clear that place out! I would go with you, but i'm saved this week and plus I want to have as many separate groups running as possible for more mats.

It might just be me, but it seems a little off to ask the guild for donations towards an item that is 100% vanity and puts your ego/pride meter through the roof. If it in any way helped the guild I could see it, but don't you think this might be taking advantage of your brothers and sisters generosity towards an end that only gives you bragging rights in cities and not much else?

Plus you did this a couple weeks ago, asking ppl in guild over and over to farm AQ for you so you could get another rare and exclusive personal reward.

These are thing that are fine to accomplish solo and with close friends but to rally the guild around it might not be appropriate in my opinion.

I realize this is an achievement for the guild, but it's not a huge one. But good luck with getting it anyways =)

I fully support this endeavor. You have good reasons.

Two questions - can a mage solo MC? Can a prot pally solo MC?

Oh and a last question - are those MC mobs immune to fire damage?

I don't think this is much different then asking the guild for anything else, be it helping kill a group quest NPC or run through an instance. Aren't most WOW rewards individual? As they say, it doesn't hurt to ask!

If you disagree with me, than you don't have to help. I dropped the AQ idea fairly quickly when I figured out that dumb scepter was going away in 4.0.3a. It was more of a stupid "Hey im gonna do this" that didn't really... Work out. Plus I remembered that the black scarab was only for people who opened the gates in the first place. I'm doing a lot of the work myself; i've already dropped 2.5k myself on this.

Flame, as I remember back in Molten Core days, mages were forced to spec frost (Or was it arcane?) because the mobs were immune to fire damage. A prot pally could most likely solo MC but it would take a long time - I think I did it once, just beware the fire elementals that start to split because they're hard to get rid of once they start. I'm not sure about a mage. I'd probably take one person in there with you to make it safe.

Well I stand corrected. ;) If the guild leader is behind it then I will support it fully. Sorry to be negative.

I know Gnomegeddon got the TF and Hand of Rag on his Pally and TF on DK from solo runs plus the makings for like 3 more. Asked him this morning, He said the Pally was not too slow actually. He said a mage solo would be roflstomped.

After reading the WoWhead article, looks like this achievement could be a bit more use than just "Hey look at us!" - http://www.wowhead.com/guide=cataclysm&guilds#guild-achievements

"Your guild is now able to level up with you! Similarly to players' leveling, your guild gains levels - starting at 1, going to maximum of 25 - based on experience it earns through its members. As the guild levels up, new "perks" (see below) become available to its members. There are 4 types of activities a player can perform that will spillover experience towards the guild:

■Completing quests / daily quests that reward experience
■Killing any dungeon / raid boss with a guild group/raid
■Winning a rated battleground with a guild group/raid
■Earning a guild achievement (these are nice, fat chunks of experience so they feel great when you get 'em)
"

Interesting. It could also be a guild Feat of Strength, however.

Also : Dark Iron Bars - Managed to get ahold of 20.

I tried to solo one of the bosses on Klangdon a few weeks ago and indeed I got roflstomped.

Paladin = ezmode.

This isn't hard as much as it is time consuming.
