We are starting to have quiet a few number of 60s in our guild and I was thinking that why not we approach guild like Roadkill (and Verndari) to see if we can join their alliance for MC. Now no one from their side has mentioned this but I think we have to start giving our 60s some exposure to end game stuff. If not these folks then some other guild...

I've been running with these folks and they're very nicely organized. They do however started using DKP system this past wknd. Their raids tend to get full fast but if you don't get a spot they still award you the dkp (required to stay online for certain amount of time)...Heck I got 67 this wknd even tho i didnt' take part in it. What I like about them is they give everyone a chance...if they turn someone cause of full raid or too many of a certain class they keep that person in mind and invite them to future raids.

I just thought we ought to look into some guild to form an alliance, if not roadkill/verndari then some other to start doing some serious end game content.

I think its time we take a step forward and some of our high levels want to experience this stuff (evident from depatures due to lack of such stuff). I know not all of the guild members are in for such reasons but i'm sure some of us would like to do such things....

An alliance would be great, they do help us get into more raids, but also its good to have several guilds that have the same mindset also.

Dragon kill points or something like that. It is way of tracking participation in high end instances. The more often you participate the better chance you have on getting high end gear. From what I have seen (still have 5 levels to go so no direct experience with it) it works like this. Say you are a warrior. You have been running with the group for the last couple of weeks waiting for your epic/set gear to drop but it hasn't. Tonight you happen to pick up another warrior to help off tank. Everything goes good and you beat the boss and poof, there is your epic/set gear. Because you have been with the group the last couple of weeks, your contribution lets you have the gear without having to roll on it. Just think how frustrating it is to put in several hours at a time for several weeks waiting for your gear to drop only to have a pickup warrior out roll you on the day it happens to drop.

Convinent, But what happens when the other "pickup" war has been going for weeks, but the war that one last time has more seniority? does he get the next piece that drops just because he's still been there longer than the pickup?

Otherwords, will that pickup war ever get a drop?

Some DKP systems add to your roll. So lets say you have been running for a few weeks and earn 25 points. And then you pickup a warrior because one is sick. Your set drops, you both roll, but you get to add 25 points to your roll. So if you roll higher then 75, you get the item. Afterwards, you loose your DKP and you start at zero.

Some systems allow you to wager your DKP. So lets say you roll 90, you would wager 11 points of your 25 to get 101. That would leave you with 14 points for later.

Some guilds, like Ateam, will allow a pickup to win epic gear if they are willing to pay a lot of gold. Usually in amounts of 500 to 800 or more gold.

<boogles my mind>

I am sure this is needed. It just amazes me that our society has gotten very complex for a game.....

DKP usually is like X item costs Y (like 50DKP for pauldrons of might) and it works like money you earn more by being their and you get it from killing bosses on time or however the guild/raid has it set up.

so if you wanted to buy pauldrons of might and you had 500DKP you now have 450. (though they might limit you to one epic per run)
