still waiting for highspeed internet

Hello to everyone,i just wanted to say that iam still waiting for highspeed internet to come to the area where i live,actually it is here just hasn't made it up the road yet i thought it was going to be here a month or two ago but it hasn't yet.I can't wait till it does and i can start playing wow again and talking and playing wow with my old friends again and also meeting the new members of redeemed.I sometimes wish that i had never moved to arkansas but it is done and i will eventually be able to play wow again, i guess i could play wow now but when your latency is like 1,500 to 2,000 all of the time it makes the game very hard to play and also very aggrivating,so i chose to quit playing wow until i can get highspeed and i should have it sometime this year.So i just don't want any of you all to forget about me and i also just wanted to let you all know that i haven't forgotten about any of you.
 
Hi Augustious, its been what, 3 or 4 months? Good to see you post again, miss you in game and your silly jokes!!!
 
cgamer, i have dial up for now but it is really slow, i don't think i can or could even play wow on dial up, but i think i may give it a try and even if i can't really play it would be great to just talk with all of my friends in the guild again, so i think i will try and get on wow and see what it is like.
 
You gotta do what ya gotta do, I played WoW, EQ2, AC, and many others on dial up for years...just recently got high speed...not much difference except a little less lag...

Actually, when it comes to gaming, if you are hitting 42kbps, and that is all your are doing, you should run smoothly...and be around 300-500 Latiency... I had this program to see the size of the files that are transferred to play WoW, and they are really only like 4-6kb/s...unless you are using addons...then it is more like 10-13kb/s...

(kbps = Kilo-bits per second... kb/s = Kilo-bytes per second...)

well thankyou xion tawa, i appreciate the techincal info and you have helped me in deciding to get my wow account back up and see about playing wow again while using dial up and see what kind of experience i can get,because i really miss playing and also keeping in touch with all of my wow friends, so hope to see you and the rest of my fellow friends real soon.
