ok i figuired i would see what u guys think bout this: any time im playing CS and say i leave aim on or somethin else and someone else msgs me on either of those msngers or i switch programs so i can server the web and play CS, etc, steam gets all screwd up where i cant see any typeing, names, and useally the maps look screwd up. i was thinking it might be my lack of 512mb of ram but im not sure
 
yeah that happens to me all the time. I just don't switch from the game :P. Also on aim go on away and checkbox "hide all windows while I am away" and the new im's won't mess your game up.
 
i useally just leave everything off, but i mean its annoying cuz even if aol does a little add it screws me up.
 
internet connection doesnt matter it still does it in offline mode, and im working on getting a 512mb chip installed but its a little difficult money wise
 
one good thing ive noticed about steam and win98 ( haven't converted yet... soon) is that if you alt tab out for whatever reason, when you come back you have sound.

B4 i used to loose sound for the dumbest reasons, now it never happens.

Plus i love the map d/l now. it's soo much better than pre steam.

Most people love to hate it, but i have found that it has it's good points tooo..
