Steam Sale is now up

DOH! I had Prey in my cart when it ran out! :(

Ah if you go to the Prey page it displays this...
Valve said:
Our sale on Prey was so popular we ran out of keys!! If we can get more, we'll try to bring this deal back. In the meantime, 2K Games has added BioShock to the set of daily deals on Steam, at 75% OFF today only. Happy holidays!

I am going to accuse Valve of being an "Indian giver" get it :p, Prey being a game starring an Indian, huh, huh :p :p :p . Oh well we can't all be stand up comedians XD.

I had planned to buy Prey (been wanting to try it out for a while, but not enough to spend more than a few bucks on it). I went back to the Prey page on the Steam Store tonight, read the notice, and thought, "What? How do you sell out of something on Steam?"

I still don't understand.

I doubt anyone's awake at this hour (I should be in bed myself), but would you all recommend Killing Floor? I'm thinking of dropping the $5 on it, hope that at least a few other ToJ members did the same, and hope there's a decent number of players to put together the occasional impromptu game.

Okay, I caved and bought Killing Floor for $5 USD. Who am I to resist a Unreal Engine 2 (not 3; every UE3 game I play, with the exception of Madballs, feels really awkward to control) game that revolves around killing zombies and created by an indie development team?

My roommate has been playing killing floor nonstop since the semester break began... Every time I see him on steam it is playing that game. So I'm pretty sure it's pretty fun.

*whimper*
Soooo many games, sooooooooo little money. Killing Floor is a lot of fun (thanks again friendly forumite for the guest pass) and I wish I could afford it, I also wish I could afford about half the games for sale now... Jade Empire, Bioshock, Prince of Persia, and Assassin's Creed, and the Eidos pack being near the top of my list (I already have AC on the 360, but I'd prefer it on my PC...)

I bit on Jade Empire.

That makes 2 so far:
Torchlight for $4.99
Jade Empire for $3.75

I really wanted Prey and it was so hard to pass up King's Bounty and King Arthur - The Role-playing Wargame.

I own The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director's Cut and it is truly amazing, such a steal at $13.59 this month.

oh wow Sid Meier's Civ 4 The Complete Edition for $13.60 ack...
Aye, I'm tempted by that one, too. The only reason I'm skipping it is because I hear it can be a huge time sink.

and Max Payne 1 &2 for $3.74
I bought the Max Payne bundle and actually logged in to post that if anyone wants to get both Max Payne games, don't buy them individually--buy the bundle.

But then ewoks mentioned the bundle, so I'm late to the thread.

Confirming it is a huge time sink. I have spent many, many hours on that game, and still look back on it with great fondness, though I've got too much going atm with other games/life to dust it off.

Is there a demo for Civ IV?

Jade empire = a bioware rpg for $3.75 - tempting!
After reading about Jade Empire today, I wish I had picked it up yesterday when it was on sale. :(

Oh well. Still plenty of games on my backlog to get through. It's entirely possible Jade Empire will go on sale again before I'm ready to play through it.

Not that I'm aware of. If you like building an nation from scratch, and making that nation into an empire via military, cultural, or economic means, (or a mix of all three) you'd enjoy this game. I will say however, that when I say time sink, I mean it tends to soak up two to three hours minimum per sitting. Never could figure out why the time went so fast either...
