Steam Sale is now up

L4D2 STILL 25% off! LAME!

Oh well.

Good deals though, at least for most games.

Though, I was hoping for MW2 to be on sale too.

Mmmm, as if that THQ pack I picked up at Thanksgiving wasn't enough, now that Eidos deal is looking awfully tasty.

Though, I was hoping for MW2 to be on sale too.

Given the arrogance that Activision / Infinity Ward have displayed lately, it seems very unlikely that there will be any significant MW2 sales in the near future.

There are a few sales that may just be too good to pass up. I know most others are looking at the Eidos Pack, but I was thinking of picking up Beyond Good and Evil for $5.

Oh, and for those who missed it the first time, Madballs in...Babo:Invasion is $5 now. If you want a free guest pass to try it out, just send me a PM with your e-mail address.

wow I loved Beyond Good and Evil, I almost want to play it all over again.
I'd only played about an hour of the Gamecube version a while back, but I liked what I played. The reason it caught my interest in the first place was that I read about the main character in an article about strong female characters in video games (a rarity, to be sure). Then I read the story was solid, too, and I was sold.

I was on the fence as to whether or not to get it, then a ToJ member bought it for me. :D

I got L4D2 for $34 today!

Me sa happy!
So what campaign do you want to play first? :)

And I wasn't planning on getting anything in today's sales, but that id Super Pack is looking mighty tempting. I already own the key games in the package (Doom II and Quake 3), so I plan on skipping it, but I would recommend it to anyone who played and enjoyed the old school id FPS games but doesn't have a copy to call their very own.

I'm also concerned that the Steam versions of the older games (Doom, Doom II, and Hexen, most importantly) won't allow for new game engines (like Skulltag for Doom II) because of Steam authentication. I'd rather just run with Skulltag than fuss with Steam.

Day of Defeat Source is on sale for $2.49 USD today (Sunday, Dec. 27). I already bought it and posted about the sale in ToJ General Discussion.

Can anyone provide a quick review of Zombie Driver? Two and a half bucks might be a fair price for some mindless zombie squishing fun.

EDIT: Ouch. Zombie Driver has a 55 on Metacritic.

EDIT: I would be kinda tempted to pick up Dead Space for $10.19 USD if there wasn't the possibility of it coming with SecuROM attached.

Dead Space is all kinds of awesome, highly recommended. :)

And Zombie Driver would've got a 68 without the Onion review. Just sayin'. It's enjoyable, if a bit "indie". It's like the old GTAs, but with zombors.

You might get bargains on games through steam but some game's it
will cost you lots of download cap.

I was struggling along downloading Red alert 3 uprising through steam
which costed me 7 Gigs of download cap day's after days for about 2
months.

I'm still yet to download Monkey island special edition through steam
which is 2 gigs download cap.

Well, I skipped Zombie Driver, Dead Space, and Torchlight (which I would have scooped up in a heartbeat if it had multiplayer), but I plan on picking up Prey and Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition.

A ToJ member sent me a guest pass for Killing Floor; I've downloaded the game and plan on trying it out tonight. If I like it, I'll drop $5 for it.

And for all those people who picked up the Unreal Pack, don't forget that Monday nights are Tribe of Judah's Unreal Tournament 3 game nights! Game nights kick off around 7:30 p.m. Central on ToJ's UT3 server.

Err did they take Prey off and put Bioshock in it's place before the timer expired??? Did someone at Valve mis-list something :p ?

I thought about getting something for when I am getting my butt kicked on TF2 but nothing appeals to me. I've been through everything in the steam sale too :p . I considered Prey as a marginal FPS substitute but every time I ask myself whether I'd rather use the time to play a marginal FPS or play TF2 it comes up TF2 :p.

Tek Deus Ex was an excellent game when I played it back when (on PS2). It's one of the few multiple choice games that does it right as it's not so much a question of being good or bad but how you want to handle things (although some choices turn out happier than others). If I recall correctly it's story is good with no spiritualism or humanistic tripe as well. It is an easy game and with me picking up everything even easier. I had a bazillion of those hacking items by the end :p.

When your bored with TF2 try out the new bots. The spy, sniper and engineer bots are all priceless in terms of stupidity. The spy just fires the revolver, which is epic because of how loud it is. Just a constant blam blam blam. The engineer, well lets just say there is nothing like 15 sentries crowded near a point. Sniper is practically an aimbot, they line up in rows and headshot each other repeatedly. Soldiers are like watching a bad game of missile command.

I tried it a little on koth_sawmill... bots lub running directly into the sawblades with no enemies around :D .
