Stargate SG-1

Stargate got a little stale after season nine but with the new cast it was getting a little interesting again.

You do realize the "new cast" is from the previous sci-fi shows; Farscape, Andromeda...

Ben Browder from Farscape as Lt. Colonel Cameron Mitchell & Lexa Doig from Andromeda as Dr. Carolyn Lam in Stargate SG-1.

It is odd to have them in the show, but oh well, starting to like Stargate Atlantis.

Well at least there are 2 maps in CS:S we can play and maybe theres a couple of more of them out now who knows.
Heres what I got on CS:S, stargate_sg-1 and stargate_sg-2.

However, no one is a fan of the FN P-90 since its weak penetration, weak damage, recoil and slow reload.

I know this for a fact since I'm the only CS player using it, compare to others using Colts and MP5s.

If you've seen the episode where Major Carter showed off the P-90 to the rebel Jaffa, thats its true power.

Correct, Shark.

Heres in more detail;

"Standart pistols and SMGs chambered for pistol rounds were proved ineffective against enemy soldiers, wearing armour (bulletproof) vests, so FN Herstal developed a new round with enhanced penetration - the SS190. This round looks like scaled downt 5.56mm NATO round and forces the pointed, steel core bullet to the 600-700 meters per second at the muzzle, thus being capable to defeat standart CRISAT helmets and armour vests at reasonable distances (50-100 meters)."

or

Anyone watch Stargate SG-1? cause theirs one episode I like sooo much, the part when SG-1 team up with a resistance Go'auld(i know thats spelled wrong), the target practice was a big log hanging from a rope. The P-90 shredded the log like a chain-saw, YEAH!!!

I guess you could say, thats how the P-90 inspired me.

I finally got to see episode 200. It was great. I actually watched it twice so I could get my wife to watch it. Hilarious.

I thought the movie was just...okay. Great concept, though. I loved the TV series way more. Except for Season 9...and maybe 8...I can't remember. Season 10 has been so much better though.
I have to side with Ember on this one (no great shock there, eh?).

The movie was a decent action film with a mild sci-fi influence. I wouldn't really call it a science fiction film. The first season of Stargate took the film's best ideas (the gate, the Goa'uld, and the awkward relationship between Jack and Daniel) and followed a truer sci-fi path.

Understand that my view is biased, though, as I believe that most American films dubbed as "sci-fi" are weak attempts to weasel money out of the pockets of Star Wars and Star Trek fans. Shows that are more daring--shows like Farscape, for example--are usually overlooked in favor of "hybrid" shows that shy away from the difficult topics often covered in sci-fi literature and instead gravitate toward green-skinned curvaceous women and exploding spaceships.

I like the p90, the mp7 is awsome too :P

full body armor penetration at 200 meters, ouch...

last I checked the m16/m4 had a muzzle velocity of just under 2000ft/s

the mp7 has 2400ft/s velocity o0o

plus its just a little bit larger then a handgun

I posted on a message board about the loss of a great Sci-Fi show, do you doubt I'm not a big enough nerd to know about Farscape?

I like the fact that they didn't make Ben Browder and Claudia Black a couple in the Farscape universe follow the same plot in Stargate. Over the years Stargate has had so many guest stars from other famous sci-fi shows.

Anyone here ever see the original Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy from the seventies?
It was made for tv and was way better then the movie version.

It was quite long timewise and much much better then the new movie ever was.

And vice versa...

I was surprised to see the Stargate SG-1 characters, Daniel and Teal'c in Andromeda.

Even so, they're Rifles, not Sub-Machine guns. So, I think a P-90 having greater penetration than the MP-5, is really nice. Though, in the movie, Lethal Weapon 4, the bad guy in the intro movie with the flamethrower, had a mini version of the M4, that was cool.

I like Ben Browder's new character in SG-1. However, I really don't like Claudia Black's 'Vala' character. She was so much better as a tough-minded Peacekeeper. Vala just gets on my nerves with her loopy behavior.

its like she has a bad case of adhd...

I think her acting is better now that she is dressed more approprietly and she is actually trying to help the team(in the way she knows how)
