Starcraft: Ghost cancelled?

"Indefinitely postpone" is pretty much what happened to Warcraft Adventures a point and click adventure game in the warcraft universe. After years in development and an almost completed version they quietly cancelled it after it did not live up to there high expectations.

Actually, I think that's where they got the World of Warcraft idea from :D .

I wonder what the next StarCraft game is going to be? Is it going to be Ghost, but later down the road, or something else?

Stars of Starcraft maybe?

MMORPG goodness in the StarCraft universe?

That would be one heck of an undertaking if it turns out to be a MMORPG..and I doubt blizzard has any plans to do that. Their focus is on WoW as an MMORPG for years to come. They can hardly keep up with their WoW demands...server maintaince, lack of GMs, etc....than again they have millions so they could.

WoW patch 1.21

New races: Terrans, Protoss, and Zerg

Classes: Marines, Hydralisks, Ghosts...

Better it be cancelled than for us to have another Daikatana incident malevolently foisted upon the gaming populace.

Actually they took most of the story and made it into the novel Warcraft: Lord of the Clans, which was about the early life of Thrall. Warcraft III continued the story and borrowed a lot of elements form the cancelled game. Warcraft Adventures was meant to be a point and click game like Myth or Riven, would have been interesting if they had completed it.

It's obviously because they're preparing for the inevitable Starcraft 2 announcement... Yeah... Has to be...

I don't know, I can't imagine Blizzard scraping the entire project after switching developers and investing upwards of four years in development. It's possible the game could show up again in some form on next-generation consoles. Blizzard, after all, purchased Swinging Ape Studios, the developer it put on the project after Nihilistic Software was given the boot.

On the other hand, maybe deep down the developers new what they had on their hands. "Crap, we've got Splinter Cell with a coat of StarCraft paint. Ubisoft is our going to sue our trollish behinds into oblivion...no not that oblivion, the other one."

it appears as though Blizzard Entertainment has shelved all further development on its highly anticipated yet late StarCraft: Ghost.

Ha, ha. :D

By the way, you can play WoS or/and SC 2 on their Use Map Settings of SC/BW games.

WoS = World of Starcraft
SC 2 = Starcraft 2

Not their true views, but it is fun.

I don't remember what I read or where, but I think this is pretty old news... for me anyway. I'm still waiting for SC2 though!!!
