Some may or may not have seen this, but Fileplanet is offering up downloads of Tribes 1 and 2 for free as a special promo for Tribes: Vengence.

Too many things on the go for me to try 'em out, but they might float your boat.
 
That's cool. It would be really hard to get a game, though. Plus I already own them both.

Does anybody know if anyone from what was Dynamix is now working on Vengeance? If they screw it up, I'll spend the day quoting verses from Lamentations.

It will be tough to compete with Halo-PC.  Anything unique in Tribes that would pull a Halo player away?
 
Cooler, more diverse vehicles. Jetpacks. Different classes, more strategy, teamwork-based tactics.

I realize this is not proper English, but Tribes is just everything the most coolest.
 
I agree, tribes has a lot more to offer than halo imo. In Tribes 2 it was great fun to play with a clan with strats, vehicles, and teamwork.

Team classes isn't always a plus imho.

I can't get them to work. Fileplanet insists on "verifying" my email, and no matter what address I send it to, it refuses to "verify". Another reason why fp sucks.

I haven't had a problem with FP in the past. I really can't understand why everybody has such a problem with them.

Halo vs. Tribes....once you've tried a jet pack, you'll find it difficult to go back. ;)

Er...maybe because you have to wait on average 40 minutes for a download to even begin? But outside that they usually give me all kinds of difficulties.

Back to Tribes, is there any other place I can download it? I'd buy the issue of comp gaming but it's on a dvd (and I don't own a dvd player).
 
I could post an .iso of Tribes 2 to my website and take it off after you've downloaded it, Maxx. I'm not sure if that would work, though. PM me if you want to try it.
 
That's ok, I'll prolly try to get fp to work, and if not it's probably not worth it for me. Thanks anyway
