Somebody tell me what Brink is like already!

Seriously people, I'd have thought there would be some thread around here, or maybe my new contacts are messing up my eyesight. It's been 10 hours and nary a peep about it. I'm stuck here in Branson, Mo. until Monday and I need to know if I should be in giddy anticipatory excitement or more of a eh, it sounded good on paper kind of emotion.

*refuses to look at critic sites on principle*

Also, I'm terribly bored and using my sister's laptop which can't run any decent games. >.>

Well it starts off a little slow but once the aliens put your brain back in and you learn 7 dimensional warping it gets really fun. Of course some people find the talking otter kinda annoying but I thought it was rather cute and a good change up to the exploding sauropods. That's just what I've heard, I don't have the game myself so game play may differ slightly. Personally I'm waiting for a TF2 hat to be offered with it. There is just no reason to buy a game nowadays without getting a TF2 hat, what would anyone do with just a game anyway? :p

Out of 10, I would say it's 8.5~8.7ish.

The console versions got very shoddy ports with reviews ranging from 40~70%, PC is 80+.

I'm digging the mobility of the SMART system, team-work focus (with an actually REASON to play together), graphics are solid, audio is incredible (though two levels did cut out the sound), and the character/gun customization is pretty sick compared to other shooters. Only issue so far is Bot AI being useless for objectives, but online it's a blast. Was a good idea tying some weapons/attachments to the Challenge mode, it's like an advanced tutorial. xD

For me it feels like mirrors edge movement + a borderlands vibe + tf2 team-work (or what it should have been) + with a pinch Unreal tournament.

Well, it's like a game where you shoot things... and run and stuff.

Oh good! Everything I was hoping for in the game. XD

I knew I should've installed logmein on my desktop so I could get the download finished before I get back home.

I only really play shooters for the multiplayer anyway, so terribad ai bots aren't too big a deal for me.

Glad to hear the good reports on multi-player. My wife and I loved Quake Wars (also by Splash Damage) and we burned that to the ground. I think she might get turned off by the borderlands "feel" and I am unsure if it will run on our systems, so I will probably hold out for a demo (please let there be a demo), before purchasing.

Having finally gotten to play some actual vs multiplayer today, I am really enjoying the game. You can take a little of a beating in the game and that allows you to really use the movement to your advantage. The guns take a more realistic approach then with TF2 but not quite as much as CoD games. Once the community starts to figure out how the secondary objectives work I think you will see very active gameplay and a lot more strategy then right now. Even with the lack of strategy right now I find the game to be very enjoyable and even players who don't have the best aim can find a role to be very useful to your team.

That was one of the great things about Quake Wars, you could be a class like the Medic and really contribute to the game without focusing on killing.

You're in Branson and you didn't tell me? We could've done lunch! ...If my car wasn't at the mechanic, that is. :(

And yes, Tribe of Judah has a Brink chapter now. :D

And if I actually had a vehicle to get around in. >.> I forgot how stinking hot it is in this state. It's rediculous. Why would anyone willingly choose to live in a place like this?!
