Believe it or not, we've had our current cape design (by Chadley) for almost 6 months already. Which means that it will be changing again. More importantly, it is time for anyone who is interested to pay a visit to the [Guild Emblemer] in any major GW town and design a cape or set of complementary capes as your entry into the

SoE/SOE Semi-Annual Cape Design Contest

Rules
  • One cape or matching pair per member
  • All entries (screen shot from the guild emblemer window) must be posted on this thread or through a link in a post on this thread by Sunday night 24Jun07 11:59pm eastern
  • Officers will each select 2 designs and the top 3 from the officer selection will be finalists
  • Each finalist will receive a prize of 5 platinum (GW currency - no actual cash value)
  • A poll will be posted on the forum in the evening on 25Jun07 with the finalists. The poll will be set to continue for 7 days.
  • Monday, July 2, once the poll has closed, the new cape will be recreated (as best as I can from the screenshot) and implemented in game as the new SoE/SOE cape.
  • In addition to the honor of having your cape design selected, the winner will receive an additional prize of 10 platinum (GW currency - no actual cash value)
  • If you submit only one design, I reserve the right to modify it slightly to distinguish between SoE and SOE - for example, the fleur de lis on the current cape is slightly darker on SOE.
  • If more than one entry/post for any member is included, only the most recent entry will be counted (previous entry will be deleted by the moderators).

So get out there and design our cape that will be used for the next 6 months!

Anything's better than the fleur de lis. I feel like a French person running around, with my feminine silver (was it gold? I don't have it activated) flowing fleur-de-lis-cape off-setting my manly armor.
 
I'm not familiar with how GW allows cape designs. Do we make it with a computer program (like photoshop, fireworks, or paint)... and import it.... or do we have to make it in GW then screen shot it in?

LOL, Raven we had the exact same idea. Same colors and everything. Great minds think alike dont they ;)
 
well i got second place last year... does my entry have a chance at a second go? :D jk jk i will have to make one that is equally as nice... if not nicer
 
:D i like dauntless's designs
however i'm thinking blue... (you should know i like blue seeing my cape :p )

The bar setting by the gold cape has the setting for both the gold and silver, but silver is the bottom right color... the blue background settings are shown by the silver cape. The emblem white is the bottom right (black, silver, & white color) set all the way up the bar. Just in case you pick mine (*laugh*)

P.S.: no bias against me for not getting creative and making these designs separate from my guild's cape please :p (i would post a pic but they might mistake it for a second entry o.o)

17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God

The sword is the word of God as said in Ephesians. The swirlies represtents the sin that all man has and the Sword, or God, "penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints an marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart" and then at the bottom (hard to see) but there is more swirlies but they become straight eventually representing how God moves in us like a Sword, cuts into us, and then straighten us out to follow the straight and narrow path and become God's children.
 
once again my theory of the Tree of life, but its just on a different background that i thought made it look sweet
