Skill Cap Run on Hell's Precipice, SAT 4/22/06 10 PM EST

I need to go slaughter our good ol' undead friend Rurick and get Hundred Blades, and several guildies have already offered to help me do that tomorrow night. I though I'd post this in case anyone wanted to come along to try and cap any of the following from Hell's Precipace:

Mind Burn (Elementalist Scelus Prosum)

Panic (Mesmer Moles Quibus)

Aura of the Lich (Necromancer Maligo Libens)

Greater Conflagration (Ranger Valetudo Rubor)

Eviscerate (Warrior Tortitudo Probo)

Guildwiki says those bosses randomly spawn, don't know if that means they're always there but in different places or not always there. (UPDATE - they ARE always there, thanks Cloud G)

For anyone who would like quick advice on what to bring skill-wise, I'm pasting below some tips for this mission from Guildwiki:

Tip 1: It is imperative that you tackle the Titans and their spawns one by one. Good party organization is very important. If different party members fight a different monster, you'll end up with four or five Hands and Fists running around, and they will be tough to beat. Instead, focus on a Burning Titan and break it down to a Hulk. Then break that down to a Hand and a Fist, dispatch them, and move on to the next Hulk or Titan.

Tip 2: It is useful to have a Ranger who has Winter, as it turns all elemental damage to cold; most enemies in this mission are weak against cold damage.

Tip 3: Remind your Elementalists not to bring their fire attacks (unless someone has Winter). It is recommended to bring water spells instead, such as Ice Spikes and Maelstrom, and Shard Storm. Also, Warriors and Atown's ele should use normal weapons (or, better yet, icy weapons like Icy Dragon Sword), instead of their beloved Fiery Dragon Swords.

Tip 4: Remind your Warriors to bring some damage-soaking or health-enhancing skills/spells like Endure Pain. The Titans can dish out lots of damage in a hurry, as can the Portal Wraiths at the end. These protections can give extra time for the party's Monks to heal the warriors.

Tip 5: Surprisingly, the Necromancer's Well of Blood works well on this mission. It can be used when the Risen Ash Hulks die and the Fists/Hands of the Titans appear. Depending on how many points the Necromancer has in Blood Magic, this can negate the effects of burning on the players, which will free up a lot of energy for the Monks. It's also useful on the imps that are running about. At first glance you would think there are not many corpses to exploit, but in fact there are quite a few.

By the way, if Slalomdms doesn't join us on this run, we'll all know that he actually IS the lich!

This mission is what you could call an endurance mission. It's not terribly difficult, it just takes playing well for a long period. Nice piece is that all the bosses aside for good ol' Prince Rurik are easy to get to. (Rurik is the second to last guy you have to beat before completing the mission.)

All the bossess do spawn, and they're are specific locations that bosses spawn in, just what boss is where is random.

Below is a link to a site that has all the locations of elite skill boss spawns.

I'd like to cap 100 blades just to unlock it and I need the mission for Derk Black, so I hope to join you. I will be getting home late on Saturday, but I should be back and able to play by then.

Derk Black (as you can see in my sig) is a Ranger. I have Winter and Greater Conflagration (managed to cap with henchies, but died at Rurik). Together, any warriors and rangers attacking do cold damage which hurts most of the stuff in the mission more. We'll need some healing, but henchies could cover if we don't have enough. Another thing that helps in this mission is a necro running Spinal shivers on the Risen Ashen Hulks and other casters - it interrupts them each time they are hit with cold damage. Well of Power also seems to work well on this mission, although Blood is Power is good too.

Count me in. My warrior needs this mission to complete the chapter. If he does then all 4 of my toons will be finished and ready for Factions.

We did this mission several weeks ago with a guild group. I took my Necro. I used Well of Power for the warriors and Blood Ritual for the Monks. I did very little damage unless the situation called for it. I was continually trying to get the well going and alternating spamming Blood Ritual on the two Monks. I've done this with lots of success on this mission several times.

The only player currently that has actually completed this mission is SP but my ranger and monk are in Abaddon's. I would like to get hundred blades with SP, I dont know if that is too many warriors for this mission or not. Cause that would be 3 counting halonic and Axe. (is that too many?)
Like i said the other night saterday is my mom's b-day. I should be on at that time since it is later, but my dad might keep me from playing computer games in the event of my moms birthday.

If i live in Missouri, how much is the difference in time from what you were planning? Or is there a difference?

If we have too many, maybe we start 2 parallel groups and see who finishes first. I've gotten pretty far with the henchies, so Lina and Menlho do OK if we need to use them.

I was thinking about working on my monk or ranger tonight and trying to get them past abbadon's so we wouldn't have so many warriors on saterday.

Somehow I doubt this is an exact quote from GuildWiki...

Just to follow up with a report:

We succeeded brilliantly! It was quite impressive. We did have a few deaths and close calls (below 10 health by one team member several times), but were able to capture skills, completed the bonus and mission.

One the most impressive parts was Scillion West's healing. Great work! He was the only monk in the group and we had no battery. In fact, the group was 4 rangers, 3 warriors and 1 monk. Here are a few screenshots:

Since this is the last mission of the game, some of you may not want to see the rest if you haven't played it yet yourself:

EDIT: Since Sleeping Princess was with us, I guess slalomdms is NOT the Lich after all.

Also have a pic of the cap... Ya thats right we had 3 warriors, 4 rangers and...one monk...
We didnt even think it was possible, but we took it slow and proved ourselves wrong. Anythings possible in this guild! :D

It was an incredible success with 4 rangers, 3 warriors and only 1 monk. We all learned that teamwork can do as well as a finely tweaked build. And just as further proof, I uploaded a photo of us at the end. Anyone who has yet to complete the game may not want to see:
