to heal as a paladin it's very important to do the following:

step 1: target the tank
step 2: cast flash of light
step 3: cast flash of light
step 4: cast flash of light
step 5: cast flash of light
step 6: cast flash of light
step 7: cast flash of light
step 8: cast flash of light
step 9: cast flash of light
step 10: cast flash of light
step 11: cast flash of light
step 12: cast flash of light
step 13: cast flash of light
step 14: cast flash of light
step 15: cast flash of light
step 16: cast flash of light
step 17: cast flash of light
 
Although flash of light does make up the majority of spell casting, forgetting to use your other abilities just means you aren't paying attention. In your spell rotation should be rank 1 holy light every 15 seconds to trigger and keep Light's Grace active. Divine Illumination every 3 minutes. Divine Favor every 2 minutes. Spattering of full rank Holy Light as warranted.

I've come to the conclusion that I don't pay attention.....and I don't know what half those spells are......guess that is why Chalice is um...a sucky healer lol

Pally healer : Woah, rogue down to 99% life, HEAL!!!!!!!!!!!

Priest healer : Woah, rogue down to 99% life, already given them too much of my attention, a pally will pick that up.

Really, what should happen:

All healing classes : Woah, rogue to 99% life, hope they are watching to use banadages when appropriate.

tank: dang rogue drawing agro taking up healers mana. taunts mob off......again.

so true, no matter what the situation is as soon as you go to heal the rogue, the tank gets hit with 5 crushing blows in a row. :P
 
hehe then there is the hunter who pulls agro and in their brilliance Feign deaths and the mobs go straight to the poor healers who tried to save their lives =)

i know right? i thought that till i did second boss in herioc MgT and i died in like 2 seconds! i have nightmares of that night
