Is there a reason why the code is disabled?

sorry Justice some dude posted gay porn in our forum with that code. This will prevent that from happening again. All they can do next time is post links which is a little easier to avoid until a mod gets there
 
Well, I've seen that happen before, but it's so infrequent... Why hinder our abilities because of one incident? I think that's kinda extreme.
 
IMO it's because we do have a number of minors who frequent this board. With the legal environment the way it is, there is someone who would gladly sue CGA over their son or daughter viewing that filth on these forums. While they would probably not win, it would be an embarrassement, and financially trying for the leadership as well as CGA itself. I'm sure it's moderators would much rather be safe than sorry.
 
I don't think you could sue. We have moderators for a reason.

I've been to a TON of public forums, I've mad ten's of thousands of posts, but this is the first forum I've been to that didn't allow pictures. In fact, I was at a forum the night it got attacked like that, and our moderators took care of it. They never came back. I was there for at least a year and that was the only time that ever happened, and I've never seen it happen anywhere else. It's just not an issue.
 
ACtually you could, you probably wouldn't win, but you could. They way the litagation laws are written you can sue for anything..

with my forum, its possible to control who can post images by setting up various user groups. So like after I know someone is ok, I could just put them into the user group which can post pictures, or set it so that after like 50 or 100 posts they automatically can post pictures, etc.

Isn't there something similar to that with ikonboard?
